Had a chuckle over the email regarding abuse on the site:

semi-conductor factories...(Seriously, are you WANTING creeper types in here?)>>

Uh, my man is in the semi-conductor business, and there's nothing creepy about him at all (well, a little). And I don't personally know any Japanese scientists, but they can't ALL be creepy, right? I just think this type of speech could be considered inflammatory by some. Or maybe it's OK to rip on the intelligent now, I don't know...

Yea that would be me...so when re-reading it, i totally got where you were comin from ;) The email was not about killing off a segment of people, it was about abusing the system. The list was a completely random list of email addresses, info@'s for websites, THOUSANDS of them for research centers etc... obviously obtained and entered into the system to gain points for invites.

This was the issue, not inviting people that may or may not fit a mold. it was unsolicited and very likely uninterested and unreachable parties and companies being spammed by PL that bothers me. To grow a community we need to wisely spread the word to folks, otherwise we risk becoming MeatSpace...

No prob, Daddy Cool, it's just there are types and there are TYPES. I have seen many people with pocket protectors who are respectful and cool, and I am not one to be PC under most circumstances. I was just a bit worried about what flurries could be caused by someone with a big bank account and an axe to grind.

I am not per se in the 'Industry' but I have had a business in cosmetics, and I love the lifestyle and want everyone to be happy and safe. I love this site, and am grateful to you which provide this to us. It's a great place to hang out. Let's just not paint everyone with the same brush - my thoughts were in legalese, thinking that someone could claim discrimination, as well as let us open our minds and realise human beings are behind posts and that there is not one 'kind' of a person that is a perv or means us harm.

Especially scientists. They are our friends!

It's why we don't have to worry about polio anymore! (Or other infectious diseases, like smallpox)

Maybe a smart and gorgeous spread would be cool - there are lots of gorgeous gals with degrees. Kill that stereotype off. All of the ladies here I have had the pleasure of talking to are smart cookies. You photographers out there - take a clue!

Good point, that should have read non industry related folks, not "creeper types". After all it is a networking site!
