Okay I have experimented with a lot of different colors that I already had. I did the looking videos up on youtube and going from there. Outcome wasn't so great lol. My mother even agreed that darker make up looks much better on me. Lighter makeup looks too over the top. So I guess I'm going to stick with experimenting with darker colors for now.

Hmmmm....That's always a tough call, cause everyone has a preference of product to work with. I've used everything from dollar store junk to the highest end stuff.
I work for MAC Cosmetics by day, so that pretty much all I use. It's great quality and about 1/2 the price of the higher end brands and only a few $$ more than drug store. Quality really matters when it comes to certain things like brushes (cheap=poor quality) your final product is going to be much nicer when applied with the right tools. A good blending & angle brush are must haves! Powder products such as eyeshadow and blush are also really important. The cheaper stuff just doesn't have the pigment/color payoff you're going to get from a professional brand.
It also depends on what's available in your area. Most high end brands offer consulataions, so you can try stuff out before you buy if you're not completely sure. They can also show you how to apply the products you're looking to purchase, so you know how to use it when you get home! Ask for samples too!
If budget is a major concern for you, I'd suggest investing in your basics (brushes, a good color selection of blush and shadow) and experimenting with the cheaper stuff for the rest of your collection. Foundation is usually comparable right across the board and most drugstore brands will do the trick. If you're using it for photo shoots, avoid anything with SPF, as it reflects the flash and can make you look lighter than you are. Black liquid liner and red lipstick are pretty much the same, no matter what you're using. It's all about playing around and finding what works best for you!
Let me know if you have any other questions!
I hope this helps Doll!

Yes you should make a youtube video!!

Ok I have a question for you. I don't have a whole lot of money, especially money I can just easily spend on makeup. Do you know of any good brands of make up that don't cost a fortune? Hopefully even that I can just buy in stores?
