semester is over and even though I slacked on some assignments andlost interest due to stress, migraines, and sleep deprivation, I managed to maintain a 4.0...don't ask me how :) I also managed to make the first round of cuts at my job thankfully. i was really afraid that I would be axed right before Christmas but so far so good. There is a round 2 coming soon even though GM got its' bailout money. Personally, I think that GM deserved to have the rug ripped out from under them...but being one of the thousands of families that work for them...I am thankful for the government's "charity."
I have been thinking a lot about the olive branch. I have been thinking about why things have happened in my life, why people had affected me the way they had, why I had affected people negatively and had found a common thread in many cases...other people. It seems that things are always so uncomplicated if other people just stay the f*** out of them. So I decided that the most I will indulge in the spirit of the holiday season other than the obligatory gift giving is to extend the olive branches to those who may have fallen victim with myself to the talk and actions of others. Those who I do not talk to or particularly like or like me for that matter for the sake of being a good person and trying to let the past go and be the bigger person. So far I have made two of these attempts and encouraged Chris to do the same. I think he found it to be a favorable experience, I have yet to find that truth.
However, whether I am wasting my time or do end up patching up old friendships or just clearing up some misunderstandings perpetuated by those who were involved and should not have been, I will sleep just fine at night. I am a very easy person to get along with and will do anything for anyone if I value their presence in my life, but I am also very unforgiving and relentlessly cynical of the motives of others. With that said, this is a very big and difficult step for me but necessary for good karma and the chance for others to invoke the same for themselves. Malice is a gift and should not be wasted on those who are undeserving because of petty untruths, misunderstandings, jealousy, and what was heard or said.
