- Well, let's see...
I am the send oldest of ten children (7 girls and 3 boys). Being the second oldest... it was easy for me to feel lost in the group as I was growing up. When I reached young adulthood, I still felt like I was "blending-in" a bit too much and needed to do some self-discovery and self-defining. A-la... vintage heaven, modeling, pin-up, and the burlesque-inclined world. I have found my niche and my soul is now comforted.
I currently work (as my full-time, bill-paying gig) as a Project Manager for a construction company. Yes - 40's and 50's attire is a necessity on the job-site. At first... I was afraid I would have to be in uniform... But I decided to take a stand and refuse to conform to the dress codes implied by men in a male-dominated industry. So... today - Bordello Shoes, and flowers in my hair... darn right! Not to mention the crinoline skirt and my full swing summer dress!
For me... it is more about self expression and refusing to follow what is "in"or popular. Once you follow those roads... you lose a bit of yourself... and at the end of each day, yourself is all you have - so why lose any bit of you?
I choose not to. I choose to stand out from the crowd... at work, with the family, or even washing the dishes...
Nevertheless... Pin-Up Lifestyle is me!
