I'm a semi-pro photographer and digital artist, gradually building a portfolio of cool images and hoping to take it on full time soon. I grew up listening to Elvis and Cliff Richard, am a huge fan of folk who have a strong sense of style and identity (which I sadly lack!) and I love a gal in a pretty frock... so it is inevitable I should end up shooting vintage and pin up and joining here.

I've recently worked on some vintage/pin up shoots which were huge fun and am keen to do lots more. Pin up is classy, sexy and fun in a way 'modern' glam just isn't.

    The length of time it takes for photos to be approved seems to vary, I guess it depends on the moderator working on the site at that particularly moment. The reason for them having to be approved first is to screen out porn type pics. This community has a good reputation and doesnt want to attract those with no interest in pin up etc. Chris

    Oh bum. I just wrote out a pretty hefty comment then it mysteriously ran away. Right..so...

    I've been on here nearly two years (crikey) and you don't get bad eggs really! Even the crap photos I took in our old flat got me encouragement to do something more.

    If you have no plans and want something to do next weekend this was quite fun. Me and the wenchman went last time and I just ended up buying gloves, but the people there looked amazing and a lot of the cars outside were old and really well looked after. We might go again this year..not sure yet..Sundays travel wise are generally a bit of a nightmare if you don't have a horse and cart.
    But yes, it's well worth a look I think. They run a few each year so it's not a one off thing. Terry Mendoza (previous photographer I worked with) is setting up there and taking photos so there will definitely be a photographer-ey interest. Perhap a card handing out opportunity?

    Yeah my reference for you was "meh, get him to take photos if you want but it's a bit risky. He just holds an old disposable camera up and pretends to take the pictures half the time. Plus he steals your accessories." Something along those lines.

Just went out for dinner with Simon's parents and I'm about to die from the amount I ate (thai..yum)...I asked them if they want to go because they took us down last time and his Ma said she'll let us know...so once we know I'll let you know. But obviously if you're not going let me know so then I won't let you know. You know?

    Oh yes, showed Simon's Mutti the photos and she reckons they're the best ones I've had done. Lots of people have the same opinion on facebook too, so well done and thank you again! xx

    Aha! I can imagine processing is pretty boring! I have a couple of friends that do photography - one at degree and one at A Level - and they both really don't like doing it aha! I have a couple of shoots planned with my friend at degree level for this summer and I'm so looking forward to them!

    I'm definitely looking to expand my portfolio and would love to do a Hollywood glamour style shoot straight out of the 1930s or 40s maybe? I'm based in Southampton until September when I'm off to Liverpool or Cardiff uni, so I can get around to places reasonably easily, especially London.
