Oh, where to begin? I grew up in a small town in south-central Kentucky surrounded by farms, poorly dressed women and all things masculine. I played in the dirt, chased snakes and captured frogs. I hung out with the boys and did everything just as good or better than them. I was a tomboy through and through.

But then, as fate would have it, one warm, summer day I discovered an old photo album while cleaning out my grandmother's attic that was full of her and all her impeccably kept friends.

It was from this moment I knew I was hooked. I had never seen hair styled so perfectly or outfits so classy and feminine. Then and there I decided I would do whatever it took to look this way, to feel so girly and glamorous.

So I began doing freelance modeling. And I LOVED it. It gave me butterflies just like I knew it would. But there was one problem. There weren't many pinup/vintage photographers in my area. And if there were, they looked like cheap imitations and tacky to boot!

So I decided I would start my own vintage/retro vibe by creating a burlesque troupe in Lexington, KY. Thus Kitty Van Dyne was born and Girlie Girl Burlesque became an instant success, now in Dayton, OH too.

But although burlesque satisfied part of that urge to perform and dress in fancy clothes, it quickly became apparent that it wasn't enough. My desire to be in front of the camera, to constantly be dressed up and feel glamorous continued to nag at my heart and my soul until thankfully, at last, Pinup Lifestyle came to my rescue!

So, kind readers, it is my hope that this site will introduce me to others in the industry who can help me grow and eventually reach my goal of doing this as my sole source of income.
