My name is Syd Divine! I reside in sunny Tucson, AZ in my Vintage home built in 1942. A proud granddaughter of a WWII Veteran and his sweetheart. I was exposed to the movies, music, fashion, beauty & lifestyle of the "Golden Age" as a young girl. I developed a lifelong love and appreciation for the era's of the past. Throughout my life I have studied, researched collected & and experimented with the fashion, styles and history of the 1920's through the 1960's. It wasn't until after high school around age 19-20ish that my love for the past. Slowly started to develop into more of a dedicated lifestyle, rather than a hobby of collecting or something I admired. For close to 10 years I have been dressing in a Vintage wardrobe and striving to bring the lost elegance of style & glamour into the modern world. I dabbled into modeling a little bit starting in 2005. Aspiring to recreate the lost images of sexy innocence, the WWII Pinups of my grandfather's time. Since then, I have done this and that working as a Vintage Model on photo shoots, Period Styling & Design work for fashion shows, photography, events, etc. Since I live in Tucson, AZ. I never tried extremely hard to pursue a full-time Period Modeling or Stylist career. Knowing there was not enough demand for this type of steady work in my neck of the woods. For me, the fashion, beauty and glamour of the past is my life long passion, heart and lifestyle. I just love to style and see myself recreated in these images. If indeed I had an opportunity to work in the element I love full-time. Believe me I would take it! Well I could go on forever, as I have a love for many things. Mostly stuff with a creative outlet. I will stop here for now, but feel free to read more about me on my MySpace page. Writing is another art that I enjoy doing! With that being said, please have a look at my blog dedicated to all things Vintage. www.goldengirlofthewest.blogspot.com. A website is long overdue and in the works, so I can have a centralized place for all my work, bio & updates! Please stay tuned.....

XOXO,

    Hi From Bali, Syd!

I had red hair for several years that was so gorgeous that (no exaggerating! I lived in West Hollywood and every single day someone would *cross the street* to question me about what color I used on my hair! It was GORGEOUS. There is so much you can do with it fashion-wise. The only thing is that it really needs refreshing every 3 weeks. Red hair color just drains out. I got a chlorine- removing shower head, but the maintenance is very high and I don't think it is a color your should try to do at home.

I had to stop when I moved to bali becuase it takes knowledgeable hair coloriosts and we cjust dont have them here. I miss it. I LOVED it.

    CUTE blog! LOVE the design!!!!!
