Hey! It's GOOD that you didn't move out here. I can't begin to tell you how much I miss the ocean and mountains (I used to live in Vancouver). I'm planning on moving back to the West coast this year...fingers crossed!

ya, Vancouver island is a good trip... and if your here a pinup shoot sounds good... i'm so jelous of the Southern Cali pinup sceen!!... on Pinuplifestyle.com forums, they are always showing photos from there pinup meet's and pinuplifestyle.com friends.... i cant wait to meet some more canadian pinups!!!

I think so. It might be a while yet before the situation here with our families allows that. We carved out a life there and I was accepted and embraced as an artist. Something that hasn't happened here in Regina. My career trajectory is on an upward slant in Europe and that's where it matters. I've been thinking about New York as well but Europe is at the moment more important.

When and where did you go to art school? Before we moved to Spain I was on the faculty at ACAD for 14 years. I've shown in Germany. It's where I got my start in Europe. In fact I just got a request for some work from a collector there. I didn't care for Germany. I wouldn't want to live there. my work though was very well accepted. In Europe you're close to everywhere. From Madrid I could be in London to meet with my dealer there and be back home in the evening for €70. From Regina you can't get anywhere for $100.

I left ACAD in 98. I taught in the Visual Communications department. I was a designer before I got jaded and turned to painting. I used the College to essentially fund my transition. I didn't have a gallery in Calgary until the year I left for Europe. My whole career in Canada was on the west coast. I have a gallery in Calgary now. I'm happy there because I'm treated well and was chased down by the dealer. That's a nice Ego thing. My focus is on Europe though and I'm making good progress.

New York is a great city. I love New York. In fact I'm going there in April. It's not the centre of the world of art right now. London is. I think new york will always be on my radar but at the moment it's not worth putting the kind of energy into you need to get a good position there. London is far more important. I have a gallery in London and now a UK publisher. This year I'll concentrate on capitalising on my gains in Spain and see if I can crack the top levels there. If I'm successful it will open up the rest of Europe.
