Last year was my first Viva, and I totally didn't know what to expect. From the music, activities, workshops and vendors, I felt like a chicken with my head cut off! I didn't have a plan or strategy to get the most out of my experience. I was running all over the place trying not to blink. But this year is going to be different!

My goals for Viva: stay near the hotel, pack smart so I can shop shop shop, be on time for everything! (I don't want to miss a thing), dance my butt off, enjoy all the bands I can, make some friends, take tons of photos, and shop some more :)

Before you know it, April will be here and 4 days of fun will commence. What are you doing to get ready?

To be fair, I had a different hair flower in that night. And I didn't post Friday's "schedule" because our Gigantic Dinner ran so late that I never got around to changing into my cocktail dress! If we go back there, we need to smarten up and split plates! :)

I graciously accept the honorary crown, though, and promise to pack a tiara this year. :D

I have a spreadsheet where I break everything down to which bra and what stockings, but the visual guide is more slapdash. Here's what one day (Saturday: car show, burlesque contest) looks like. And no, I never did get to the pool that day.

Did you say.....tiara?!? I'm in!!!

WHOA!  This will be my first year at VIVA!  I can't wait!  You guys are cute planning your weekend!  I don't know what to plan because I have no idea what to expect:) I live 15 minutes from the Orleans Hotel, so I did not book a room..oh well:( Dratz!   I occasionally U TUBE Viva...looks like an eyefull!  Anyone else live in Las Vegas?  Maybe we can carpool;)  So new to the pinup lifestyle..I might need help with my victory rolls also!

Having a great time here soo far!  Hope to find new friends also.

It's a big, weekend-long party, and it can be whatever you make of it. Want to focus on the music? There's plenty to go around, just about 24/7. Fashion more your thing? You can visit the vendor areas every day, and always find something you didn't spot earlier. Want to dance until you drop? Take your pick of live music or swingin' DJs. Maybe you simply want to laze by the pool every day. The big car show day is Saturday, but your wristband will get you into the lot every day if you want some sneak peeks, and to not wear out your feet trying to see them all in one fell swoop. Be sure to check out the schedule posted at VivaLasVegas.net and plan for any shows or seminars you don't want to miss. Ticketed events are free-with-wristband, but you'll still need to pick up actual tickets at the box office hours in advance of the particular show.

Basically, have a loose plan…but expect it to go off course! You'll meet great people, you'll hear great music, you'll see gorgeous cars. Relax and have fun!

I need to start buying my goddies before everything I want sells out! That happened my first year going, I thought to myself, "I can buy it later, it'll still be available in my size" WRONG! I learned the hard way, especially with pinup girl clothing items, they sell out the quickest.

I figured I would want to explore Vegas a little, outside of Viva. I went on Groupon and bought a few things I knew I would want to do while I'm there. Saves money in the end. I bought a massage, atom bomb testing site museum pass,  and a $60 value dinner at Capo's (Mobster Restaurant!). I'm pretty happy that I caught those!

Also I've been buying dresses, gloves, a swim suit, shoes, nylons and other things of that nature online for a few months, and I got the dresses tailored already. haha! Maybe I'm going overboard... But it feels so right!
