What's going on??

Hey y'all! I'm new to California and I'm in the Monterey Bay area. Are there any tattoo/car/bike/vintage culture shows coming up that are within a reasonable driving distance? I just missed the Ink at the Bay festival. Pinup contests/pageants are a plus :D

Not that I know of. I'm in San Jose. Maybe we should do one. Kinda meet in the middle. Like Santa Cruz??  There's a big parking lot across from the boardwalk that would be great. West Coasters "What do you think???

I.A.T.B wasn't that big, of course it was only the 1st year. not much goes on in this immediate area, I go out of santa cruz county for most events, Ink-N-Iron in long beach was probably the biggest I attended this year. Billetproof is coming up in September in the east S.F. bay area/ Antioch, that is usually a cool classic hot rod/pin-up event. you could probably still enter their pageant.... or there may be other stuff this year that is not heavily advertised.

I would LOVE to get something together! We should shoot for October/November...maybe give a Halloween theme?? Who knows, could become an annual thing! Know any vendors that would be into it?

I think October or November could be too cold for an outdoor thing. I like the Halloween idea. I would try to do that inside. I was thinking more of late August or early September. Reno does "Hot August Nights, and it rock the whole city. We could do something like "Cruzin the Boardwalk" As far as vendors I believe if you build it they will come. It we could get a commited area in that parking lot it would probibly fly. I will ask some of my motor friends what they think.

Just talked to a friend of mine. He told me of a car show every Wednesday that has about 300 cars, bikes and boats, here in Santa Clara. (I wish we could get that many pin ups to show up some where every week.) He also mention a couple big shows, around here, in the next few weeks I'm going next Wednesday to pick up some flyers on those shows . Rick

I know some tattoo shops here in Monterey that we might be able to get out. Do you know of any car clubs we could get out there too? I'll start scouting out people/vendors and such. I used to handle sponsorship and marketing for a roller derby team in Baltimore so I've got a bit of practice in getting people to show up for stuff. If you're serious I'll do all I can to get it going!

Also, I just looked around on google maps...we could maybe talk to Boardwalk Bowl and have a Bowling/Car party. Thoughts? They have live music so I imagine they have a setup...we could try and snag a couple rockabilly bands in the area.

Thats a great idea. The large parking lot I spoke of is in the almost across the street.
