Hey ladies,

I'm just curious who you would list as your biggest pin up fashion inspiration? There are so many women that deserve mention here, but I'm curious to find out what has inspired other women and how they have made it work for them?

I agree with all those mentioned, but let us not forget Jean Harlow.

Well a few of my favorites was Dorothy Dandridge, Sophia Loren, Elizabeth Taylor, Lena Horne, and the girls from Faster Pussycat Kill Kill Kill. Traci Lords in Crybaby is another favorite.

Ava Gardner, Grace Kelly and Idda van Munster :)

Growing up in a Mexican household, I was fortunate to be exposed to the beauties who reigned the Golden Age of Mexican Cinema...

Maria Felix, Lilia Prado, Rosita Quintana, and Flor Silvestre to name a few.

Rosita Quintana....

On my own, I discovered and fell for Marilyn Monroe, Rita Hayworth, Bettie Page, and Liz Taylor to name a few.  Both Mexican and American pin ups have influenced so many aspects of my life.

The Iconic Marilyn Monroe

Rita Hayworth

Why is everybody obsessed with Marilyn Monroe? Bettie page was way more interesting and dare I say it... attractive...

Elizabeth Taylore

Some great answers. If I had to choose, I would go with Marilyn and Ava Gardner <3 Two of the very best. I'm also a pretty big fan of Gil Elvgren's artwork.

Carole Lombard is my pin-up Inspiration. She technically wasn't a pin-up but her glamour and sophistication are top notch. Older folk have always told me that I resemble her so that doesn't hurt, either. She was married to Clark Gable, too! :D

Elizabeth Taylor was always my inspiration growing up.

Hey All!

Been thinking about this one! I will have to say, Betty Grable.

The hair, the suit, the shoes, the backside, with an over-the-shoulder Knockout Smile.

What works more than this?

The quintessential Pinup, who inspired all Pinups, and those who fought and died for them.

All these ladies above are absolute stunners! I would like to add Joi Lansing to this collection

And then for modern inspiration I adore Cherry Dollface and Elegy Ellem (formally Chesty von Ellem)

My pin up fashion is The Vintage Doll. <3 her.

and of course all the ones mentioned above! <3

Awww thank you so much! Glad I gave you a good experience. :)

As cliche as it may seem, my first introduction into pin up before I even knew what it was...watching Marilyn Monroe movies as a child. She was just so glamorous and I could only wish to be as glamorous as she was. Even though she wasn't considered "pinup" Audrey Hepburn influenced my style growing up. I knew about classic wardrobe pieces in high school. Thanks to Viva Las Vegas I've had an opportunity to meet a lot of today's modern pin ups but I have to say the two that stuck out in my mind as the most influential even before meeting them were Cherry Dollface and Dayna Delux. Both were amazingly sweet and I've been a fan of their work for a long time! I was honored to meet them both and it was nice that even after meeting them, I could still hold them high on my list of my favorite pin ups. Nothing worse than meeting someone you admired and they don't appreciate their fans. But yeah. That's my take :)
