"We Are The New Vintage"

I read this article, that I felt made a lot of valid points regarding what use to be sexy and accepted, and what is now being shoved down our throats. I believe that curvy women are sexier. In all the older painting they were full figured women. It is a shame how much the modeling industry has exaggerated "thin" as being sexy.
I feel a woman who is a size 12-14 is perfect, curvy, sexy, and womanly. When I saw the picture of the plus size model next to the "Straight sized model" it was a little alrming to see that the straight sized model looked like a 9 year old girl. No curves at all. While the plus size model is very curvy filled out and womanly looking.
There is a difference between healthy thin, and anorexia, just as there is a difference between "thick" or voluptuous women, and obesity. I'm a size 18 and feel I'm not at me peek weight like I once was when I was wearing a size 12 or 14. I could afford to loose some weight for sure. When I was younger I was hot and no one ever commented about my size. Now that I have 2 kids, a drivers license (so I'm no longer walking everywhere I) and have become lazier, I no longer get the attention I once did. Being curvy and full figured is beautiful.
What is your opinion on the statistics they gave regarding models? What size do you think is sexy and why?

Very interesting article!! I agree that is is crazy to look at the plus sized model compared to the standard sized one... For me, I think the sexiest size for a woman is whatever she is at her healthiest and happiest. If that's a size 0 or a size 16, as long as she is happy, eating healthy foods that nourish her body and getting exercise its fine while enjoying life (i.e. not feeling guilty if she eats a slice of cake!)... That's why I love pinup modeling, we have room for all, from the petite Audrey Hepburns to the curvy Marilyn Monroes <3! Thanks again for posting this interesting subject =)
I saw this posted on Facebook. I hate to be critical of anybody's body, whether they're small or big, but I will say that this glamourization of anorexia has got to stop. There are several people who say that plus-size acceptance glorifies obesity. I totally disagree. As this picture states, a size 6 is considered plus-size in the modeling world, and I don't care who you are, that is certainly not obese! The women who are "straight-size" models take drastic and unhealthy measures to get so unnaturally thin. But you can certainly be plump and healthy. OK, I'm going to get off my soapbox now!
By the way, I would LOVE to have this woman's body! I feel like I'm all belly and butt, but she's got the right amount of curves in all the right places! Then again, I'm biased toward plumpies!
