I've been looking at corsets on whatkatiedid.com, they are gorgeous (particularly the morticia and mae <3) but I was wondering if anyone has bought one or know if they are worth the money?

I have my eye on the Mae corset in black..i was stuck between that or the morticia but i think the mae looks like it gives a smoother shape. And the 'glamour waist cincher'...I want so much from that website but those are the main two for the moment!

Righty ho!

I can't help you out on the corset front with those two as I've only got the Baby corset (very short in body length which I sometimes wear under my work clothes) as an underbust and the rest of mine are all overbusts...

 

However, I do have both the Glamour waist cincher AND the Glamour waspie.

Personally I'd go for the Glamour waspie...I was scared it would be too short so first went for the waist cincher. I was wearing this under my clothes to work and found when I wasn't wearing stockings it was too annoying to tuck up the suspender straps. Plus as they're metal they dig in a bit if you don't do it right.

 

So after I wore that for a while I decided to go for the waspie as well and I can tell you it's awesome! Detachable suspender straps are all good. The waspie doesn't roll up (which I thought it might) when not wearing the straps and stockings and also properly flattens your stomach and cinches in at the waist without any pudge either at the bottom or between bra and waspie.

I've worn this for both social events and pin up shoots and the only issue I've found is during a shoot the suspender straps may unhook from the waspie depending on what I was wearing and what pose I was doing. However, during social events I have no complaints at all!

 

Sizing wise I'd say go for the size smaller. e.g I am approx a 27" waist and so went for the Glamour cincher for 27" waists...it was good but could have been better. When I bought the waspie I went for the 25" waist version and if given the opportunity I'd re-buy the cincher in 25" too. It has three hook "levels" so if you're afraid of it being too tight there's always the loosest option available :).

 

If you check out my photos all the corsets I'm wearing are my own and are from WKD. There's also a few shots of me in the Glamour Cincher too (the one where it looks as though I'm picking at my shoe heel in disgust!).

 

And by the way I can tell you the corsets are worth the money. My favourites are my black one (seen in my whippy photos) and the sailor style one. They're the same corset design but two different colours and they're so comfortable. I went out in the Sailor one for a 9 hour evening out and had no complaints at all. And I'm not particularly used to wearing corsets for that length of time either (although I wish I were!).

Haha, seriously this was an awesome amount of help. I was afraid the waist cincher would be too long if I needed to bend or move at all, I do have quite a long torso though :s I think i may go for the waspie on your advice for the moment..I only have so much money unfortunately! Thank you also for the sizing...I'd rather get a smaller one if it would hold me better as opposed to it just being a pretty undergarment.

 

The black corset in your photos is gorgeous, I think i'll get the mae corset in black, so classic and beautiful. A bit worried about the bulge at the back from tying it but it can alays be tucked and hid!

I LOVE What Katie Did, I actually think I buy most of my lingerie from them.

From corsets to stockings, I love them!

One of the most used items I have is the Glamour Corselette, perfect under tight dresses when you want to look flawless. Also it gives a more smooth line then lets say bra, cincher and knickers.

The cincher might give a bit more defined waist though.

 

My Maitresse Suspender Belt has been worn to death by me. It matches everything and I love the six suspenders.

 

I've only tried the Morticia and it's gorgeous. I think it gives the best shape of their corsets, VERY flattering!

The cincher is bendy don't worry! It's not like a corset, more like a lightly boned uber strong elastic (that sounds a bit weird)!. The waspie I have is 7.5" in length and goes from under my bra to just on/slightly over (by a cm or so) my hip bones.

 

I've also had the Glamour Merry Widow but I think I must have got the wrong size or something because it did nowt for me really so I ended up selling it on. For me anything with a bra attached to something body squeezing is a bit tricky.

 

Don't worry about any bulge! Everyone has a wee bit of squidge because a corset is just squeezing you and the skin has to go somewhere surely! Just don't do it up too tight so you're still comfortable - your waist will still be tiny! First time I put one on I was all  :O!:O!:O! WOOOOW!

 

Tifa - I know they're so awesome! I have the Glamour girdle, Maitresse suspender belt, knickers and bra too. They just make you feel all **KAPOW** when you have them on. Though the bullet bra's a rarity...round where I live I'd get a hell of a lot of weird looks if my bazoombas were pointing in peoples' faces! ;)

I want that suspender belt so bad, its beautiful! I'd go for the corselette but I never have much look with one piece things fitting quite right! My boobs are too small for my body haha.

Corset bulge makes me so sad! I have a few over bust ones but i'm not mad on them, have been meaning to get an underbust one for the longest time. I think I may leave the corset for now though untill I have more money.

 

I think i'll go for the waist cincher as I have quite a long torso and wouldn't want it to stop mid belly :P  Thank you so much for the help girlies!x
