Last night, I was flipping channels and I landed on Turner Classic Movies.  They were showing a movie called "The Patsy" so I decided to watch it.  It's sort of a Cinderella tale about a girl whose mom and sister treat her like a maid.  She's hopelessly in love with her sister's boyfriend and tries to get his attention.  She sneakily asks his advice on how to snag the man she loves (he's totally cluesless that it's him).  He tells her to "cultivate a personality, so she stocks up on self-help books, such as "What to Say and When to Say It."

Her family thinks she's looney toons when she starts spouting off clever witticisms such as,"Many a live wire would go dead if it weren't for his connections" and "Don't cry over spilt milk. There's enough water in it already."

Here she is hamming it up to get her family's sympathy:

It's a really funny movie and I love the hair and clothes!

I highly recommend it!

It sounds pretty interesting. I hope TCM shows it again. The clip you posted along was pretty funny.
You can buy it on amazon.com for $28.98, but that's a bit steep for me!
