My Moment with Marilyn Monroe...a dream and epiphany extraordinaire!

Had the most marvelous dream last night...I was visiting with Marilyn Monroe at her house. We sat in her living room talking and giggling about silly and wonderful things. After awhile, she told me she had a gift for me.  She reached behind her and gave me this beautiful wooden box.  I remember reading on the front of it  'With Love, George Hurrell'.  She told me that inside was her makeup.  As I looked at it, I felt like collapsing in joy! Words can not describe my gratitude at that moment.  But, why did she feel I deserved  this monumental and priceless gift??

 

It was INCREDIBLE receiving this present from the Goddess herself. I felt tears welling up in my eyes. She smiled gently, but then became quiet. She looked me straight in the eyes and held my hands tightly (I'll never forget how incredibly beautiful she was at that moment) and said 'Tammy, I want you to open this box and put on my favorite red lipstick... I opened the box slowly, relishing every moment.  Seeing all of the wonderful makeup that created her 'look'.  Thinking frantically of how I could thank her, we were suddenly in this dark room with nothing but this incredibly ornate mirror.  After I had a moment to take it all in, she pointed to the lipstick...I delicately took it out of the box, I pulled off the golden cap, made it raise up out of it's magical shell, and with the greatest respect, I placed the magic elixir on my lips. It went on like the finest silk.  She turned to me and said, 'Now I want you to look in this mirror and really see yourself.' 

(Looking at our refection, the realization of actually standing next to Marilyn Monroe and wearing her personal lipstick  was beyond words.)  Both of us still looking into the mirror, she gently placed her arm around me and she said...'You have the gift, now what are you waiting for?? Go for it!!'  As I took a moment to look at her, then look back at myself in the mirror, I realized what she was saying... that I'm to use the gift (talents) that I have been given.  When she saw that I 'got it',  she smiled her biggest smile. Feeling her confidence in me was a happiness I can not describe. 

I wanted to stay there forever...but sadly, I was awakened by my alarm clock.  I felt like crying that our time together was over...but then I thought, no...I had a very real moment with her.  I will forever remember this dream and her advice.  I'm GOING FOR IT!!!
