Hey ladies, I'm looking for a good foundation that wont fade or smear or get ugly and creased while working out, or even for the hot summer. I know many of you can relate, I have oily to combination skin and have a tendency to break out ALOT (and get lots of shine uggh). I've been using Clinique makeup for the past 6 years and it's been the only one that has worked for me.  I'm the kind of gal that absolutely cannot leave my house with at least some makeup on, and foundation is a must. I can't even go to the store at the corner haha. But I'd sure appreciate some suggestions on products that have worked for any of y'all before i go and waste my money trying product after product.  I know Clinique has their Work Out Makeup All Day Wear, which would be perfect, but that product is being discontinued :(  Anyway, I'm not looking to switch my makeup,i'm still going to use my Clinique Acne Solutions foundation as my usual makeup, but i just want one that will work well with working out and wont clog my pores up too bad.

yikes...  you really shouldn't be wearing any makeup while working out, especially foundation.  could be contributing to your acne, too.

That's true - makeup during a workout is a no-no and does contribute to skin problems.  As for the heat of the summer weather, I usually skip foundation then too.  A tinted moisturizer with sunscreen and a little powder usually do the trick.

its mostly for my phys. ed. class in college. i got class before and after

Ladies, she wasn't asking for information on why her skin was breaking out. There are a lot of ladies that wear some kind of make-up to the gym. No one wants to look all nasty and blotchy, even when they're on the treadmill. If you wear the right KIND of makeup at the gym (makeup that is made to withstand sweating) then you don't have to worry about breakouts. It's really important to wash your skin thoroughly before bed though, you don't want heavy makeup sitting on your skin. Anywho, here's my recommendations:

Revlon Colorstay got the most acclaim for being "sweat proof" It's reasonably priced too! (which is something I admire in good makeup!)

Okay, I know a lot of our performers here have heard of Mehron, but people who have never been on stage or in theater may not know about them. They make stage/special effects makeup! And as performers know, when you're up on stage, dancing, singing what-have-you, you SWEAT. A LOT. Mehron makes GREAT makeup that withstands sweat! (and they're not super expensive!)

Mehron's No Sweat Primer

Mehron Ultrafine Setting Powder (has built in antiperspirant!)

Finally there's Mehron's Celebra Professional HD foundation. This stuff is AMAZING. After using it this summer, I will NEVER go back. It absolutely did NOT budge while I was sweating!

I hope that helps you. I bet if you use the revlon colorstay w/ the Mehron setting powder you would get budge-proof coverage. I would only use the Mehron pro foundation at an outdoor event, because it's pretty heavy coverage.

@honey - i realize what she was asking for...  but there would be no need to wear foundation while working out if she didn't need to cover up anything.  skincare should be the first priority.

@cinnamonsinner - check out this article and hope it helps:

Dermablend is serious foundation too. It's ultra matte, made to cover tattoos and scars, but doesn't look cakey. It's around $50, but with the teeny amount you would need, it's so worth it.
I was not a huge fan of Dermablend. I couldn't get a match for my skintone, and I have a pretty basic ivory skintone. It DOES cover, but I found that when I began to sweat while wearing it, that it started to run. That may not happen for everyone, but it was my experience with it.

Yeah mine is a little on the darker side too, I have to lighten it with powder. It was sweat resistant for me but beware it stains clothing if you don't use the powder that comes with it! ;-)
