So, living half hour from Portland where most burlesque shows are, I found that the one performance I did here in Salem, where I live and work, I was more nervous than I was when getting on stage in the "big city". Maybe it's just cuz this town is so prude. I don't know...
Just wondering how the rest of you ladies feel? Is an audience you know better or an audience you don't know? And why?
I love preforming in front of people I know, no matter what type of performance it is. I think that having friends and family there just makes you wanna do better, and you can always count on them to get the crowd going.
There is certainly that Roxy, Thanks! Since then, I also get a kick out of having someone see me at work and be like "Haven't I seen you somewhere before?"... I always smile and say "Just maybe..." LOL
I haven't done burlesque before. But I plan on it soon. I would have no prob out here. Theres actually a good scene out here. Lots of tourist and lots of burlesque. So there are good odds when i do a performance there wont be anyone I know there unless I tell people I know. Which I will.
