Encourage a new model

So over a year ago, my wife wanted to do some pin-up photos. (In fact, joining this site and seeing all the beautiful models was one of her motivators.) I asked advice about it at the time (full story here .)

 

Sadly, a death in the family put that on hold. Now my wife is on the fence again. She's been told she looks like a glamorous old movie star, but she doesn't quite believe it. So I said I'd post a picture of her with no make up (and early in the morning!) to prove it. She said, "Do it."

 

Attached is that picture. She just needs a little encouragement as this type of thing is new to her (and me), but it's something she's been interested in doing for a while.

 

Let us know what you think - and any advice is appreciated to.

1) I'd LOVE to look that pretty with no make-up on!

2) I don't think physical looks have a lot to do with the makings of a beautiful pin-up, if that makes sense. . .sounds cliche and corny but I find it to be true.  Please don't take that the wrong way as I don't mean it as any insult, your wife is beautiful.  Some of the most beautiful women I've ever seen in pin-up do not really fit our media tries to sell off as "pretty."  Before I ramble too much , do it! :)

"You're pretty but pretty doesn't matter" is perfect advice! It's encouraging no matter how you look at it and exactly what she needs to hear. She thinks I'm crazy sometimes for saying stuff like that, so it's great to hear it from others.

I think KatieO hit the nail on the head, I would love to look like that without makeup!! She is gorgeous.

But its not essential to be stereotypically gorgeous to do pinup.  We come in all shapes, sizes, colours ect and thats the beauty of it.

 

I can see where she is coming from, as a woman. Its almost as if were expected to think less of ourselves (the age old "I'm fat" "I'm ugly") so it may be hard for her to hear, but keep telling her how pretty she is and she will believe it eventually. 

 

And I stand by the fact she is so damn pretty!

Wow! I go away for a day and look at all this love. Thanks, folks!

 

This will encourage her for sure. She's just very shy and very nervous about herself - never understood why - and sometimes it gets in the way of her doing things she wants to do. So again, thanks for the encouragement.

 

When she does some pin-up, pics will get posted here for sure.
