I confess, I had Lap-Band surgery in October of 2008. It has changed my life completely.I was wondering if anyone else has had weight loss surgery? I went from a size 22 to a size 12, and I'm still losing. I now am confronted with the problem of loosing to much weight! I don't know what a "happy" size for me is. It's a tough thing to go from being big, to being not so big. Some girls are blessed to have a slender frame from birth...others like me are not so luck! I think this is why I have a body complex thing. I am still sort of nervous about getting in front of the camera in certain poses and outfits. Even though now, I am average sized! The brain takes a while to catch up with the image you see in the mirror. If any of you girls have had or are thinking about having weight loss surgery, I'd love to talk about it!

I had Smart Lipo done at the beginning of this year. I noticed a difference in my shape right away, but they say that it takes 6 months to see your final results, so I'm still waiting. Next month I get to go in for my final appt, and truth be told, I'm not completely happy. There were some complications, and the Dr and I both think that the reason I'm not seeing the results I want are because of them. So, I'm having it done again. My doctor say's that she's not happy till I am, so this fall I'm going to redo a couple of areas now that we understand what went wrong. I do like the changes that I can see, and I'm fine with doing it again to get even better ones. All in all the surgery was easy (once we figured out the problem), in fact, I did parts of my legs standing up, doing a little dance, lol. And the recovery took longer then I was told it would, but not as long as it would if I had had normal Lipo.

*Note: Since you asked at the end of your post about weight loss surgery in general, I changed the title of your post.*

Roxy, what is Smart Lipo?  I've def thought about getting lipo and boobies.  Now all I have to do is win the lottery!  :)  Maggie, congrats on the weight loss and don't be shy about showing yourself off!
Yeah, I'm down with gettin' some boobies and lipo too! If I hit the lottery, I will be silicone and plastic from the rooter to the tooter!
Smart Lipo is a new kind of lipo that you are awake for. It takes less time to heal, and has way less scarring. Check it out, it's pretty cool. http://www.smartlipo.com/

You should be super proud of yourself-what an accomplishment! I have heard that it takes a long time for the brain to catch up with what you see in front of you but take your time-its a process and a journey.

I have thought heavily on getting a tummy tuck but after the birth (and surgery to deliver him) happened I decided to at least try and exercise etc bc surgery is exhausting and draining. I have had many in my life that are non-cosmetic so I know the drill already. But it would be nice if it all magically dissapeared LOL

My body post baby is not what it was four years prior but I keep having the pics taken bc I am on this journey for myself now. I say you should do the same. Even though your body isnt what youd like it to be as of yet you can still learn how to pose-how to work your body etc while you are losing etc. :)

yeah, that is the next thing on my list really...a tummy tuck and lipo. I was naturally blessed with big boobs, but they need to go back where they started! After 3 breast fed babies they just don't stand up like they used to! I have been trying to hold off to loose all the weight I am going to loose before I do anything. It's something I am REALLY looking forward too though! I have about 15 more pounds to go before I get to the surgery point. But, honestly if i get the tummy tuck and lipo i will probably loose that last 15 pounds!!
Nothing ruins our beautiful perky boobs like breast feeding. I saw a doctor about getting a lift last year, but the recovery time is just too long. I have a special needs son, and I can't do anything that takes more then a few days to recover (his daddy was sweet enough to take him after my procedure). One day I might have it done, but until then, push up bras are a moms best friend!

I was lucky I breastfed for 3 years and it really didn't effect my breasts, they aren't quite as perky as they once were but I'm also a lot older as well.

My cousin had gastric bypass and is doing moderatly well with it. She lost over 100lbs but still needs to lose about 80 more and is only losing about a pound a month right now. I watch her FB posts though and she still eats like crap so as much as I hoping she takes the rest of the weight off and keeps it off I have doubts that she will. At my heaviest i was a size 16 (after having child 2 late in life and losing thyroid function) I got back down to a size 8 through good eating and working out where i sort of stayed (tighter or loser at times) until last fall when I finally seemed to get my thyroid back under control through eating the right foods, eating cleaner and working out more now my 6's are loose. I did have some laser skin tightening on my tummy to help smooth things out.

I think pregnancy in general takes a toll on your boobs...I swear I should have taken pre-baby boob pics just for memories sake hehehehe

I heard though that even with a lot of exercise it still doesnt tighten things up I suppose bc muscles get stretched and weakened...oh well thank goodness for good ole spanx :)

No matter what you decide its amazing just to accept the phase that youre in while youre in it-I find it empowering kwim?

WoW, Good for you! You look amazing and I can just tell that you're on cloud 9, I would be too!

I didn't have weight loss surgery per say; however, in August 2009 I had a major procedure that took me 6 weeks to recover from. During the recovery the meds I had to take made me ill, so I had to be careful about what I ate. One day I noticed that I hadn't ate chocolate in over a week, at that point I said I would never eat it again (chocolate was like smoking crack, I coudn't stop). It'll be 2 years this August since I ate chocolate and my entier life has changed. The cravings are gone, I started eating healthy and playing squash. I lost 40 pounds and went from a 16 to a size 10. I will NEVER eat chocolate again, because I know if I take just one bite I'll screw up everything. I'm really proud of myself and I'm really proud of you. Thank you for sharing your story :)
