GWC??

I wanted to get advice on this matter on MM, but I am a little wary of their forums...

Anyway, I will just outright ask...

What is your experience with the GWC's?? That is Guys with Cameras??

How do you distinguish from just shooting with anyone and shooting with guys that maybe have ulterior motives, that is wanna see a girl in her skivvies. Ya know what I mean??

It seems like I am running into a lot of that and now I find myself becoming pickier and pickier as I drive to a more certain goal in my modeling.

So what if any are the warning signs. Maybe guys that are just pushy about shooting, but have no real, hard concepts, ideas or even work in their portfolio...??

I hate feeling bad to turn someone down, but I also am sick of the stereotypes and attitude that seem to accompany the "modeling"

Yeah I have sexy n nude pics in my portfolio, but if you do artistic nudes, does that make you a hoe??

Again, why would guys who seem confused by the idea of modeling at the same time have an attitude about women??

Maybe I have just become a whole lot smarter about my direction and goals...

I dunno, any advice on this would be welcome.

I just do not want to work with people who are half ass about shooting...

Is that too much to ask??

Or should I just shoot with anyone I can because I love what I do and want to build my portfolio...

This is a big issue over at MM. There are lots of things you can do to find out about a photographer and the potential risk. It's called due diligence. I'm listing several MM links.

This page discusses many things you can do to check out a photographer. There is much more to do than just "checking references."

Some argue that you should always take someone along with you. This approach without the due diligence is foolhardy and about half the photographers won't work with someone if they want to drag a friend along. Nobody will complain if you want to have a MUA there - that's always a good idea.

I don't see what the big deal is about worrying about someone wanting to see you nude if that's what you're going to do. The thing to worry about is if they will do anything untoward.

And if anything is making you feel uncomfortable then don't do the shoot and closely analyze what it was that made you uncomfortable.
