Note to Rude Models

This is such a small community. Why are some models so rude and snotty? They don't seem to realize that the average looking guy might be the one who could give them their big break. If you are rude to one person, that person is going to tell everyone he or she knows about you and how unpleasant you are. And it's girls from California that are the biggest offenders.
And on a side note, getting hammered at sponsored events where you are a participant is not a good idea!

This makes me very sad. My only advice would be... do away with those people and focus on a better quality of life by surrounding yourself with positivity and people that do not have hate flowing through their blood. This very rarely happens to me, but when it does I remind myself of The Four Agreements. Two that are relevant here are, 1. try not to take it personal (what did i do to deserve this, etc.), and 2. I try not to assume (why are they like that... etc.) because most of the time it isn't personal, a lot of the time it has to do with the rude person's insecurities and desire to "hate" because they are simply jealous of one thing or another. You just happen to be the passer-by that ends up having to deal with their rudeness, but again, most of the time it has nothing to do with you personally.

Remove yourself and go on with your happy self! Personally speaking, I would even hold myself back from feeling hate or animosity towards these people as you end up just reliving and recycling their bad energy. Make a mental note and move on :)

I hear ya girl. I am so over the pompousness of some people.....and not to try to start and argument but YES I agree the majority of it does come from CA (I hope no one takes this the wrong way)

Not only the average looking guy, but average looking or less-than-attractive-in-your-eyes girl could also be the one who has that big break waiting for you. Seeing someone as beneath you because they aren't physically attractive is a huge mistake. You'd think people would learn by now.

I figure let 'um be rude.....that way they phase themselves out of our scene and they don't even know it.....and the girls who truly deserve the limelight can have it back.

When you say this is such a small community, are you referring to the industry or PL? If someone was rude here, regardless of who, The Madams will regulate...

What I've found so far is that this industry is in its infancy stage as far as proper advertising/branding etc. PL aims to help with every advertiser that comes thru the site, assisting with branding, providing weekly reports etc. It's incredible how many vendors have never run an ad online, or don't track what people speak about them here or on other social sites! I constantly take it upon myself to personally email threads to vendors when they are mentioned, it may be for feedback, it may be for them to jump in and make a sale. It saddens me that I don't think I've ever seen the vendor return to join the interaction about their business!

Models and Photographers themselves are a brand, and when they finally realize that being a professional is more important that being the center of attention their brand value will greatly increase. We steer clear of the people that can't flip the party switch to business mode and do it 110%. A few times we've offered great incentives to work with people/events only to find that the other side was an absolute mess or someone simply incapable of functioning without constant twitter/email/PM reminders. Not cool and not worth the effort so we pull out and move along.

There are so many sweet, kind, professional models out there, and yes, even here in California, that there should be no reason to ever have to work with anyone rude. I think that there should be some kind of list... kind of a threat, you know. If you're rude you might end up on it then no one will want to work with you. It might keep everyone on their best behavior.

I have met many super nice models, and hope to meet many more. This scene is just too small for that type of negative behavior.

I haven't had any bad experiences here on PL at all, Edson! It's industry wide though. Some girs don't realize that this is not America's Next Top Model, and that's not how it really works, either.

Oh yes, I've met my fair share. Especially when working with other girls, I sense a lot of snobbery and agendas and rarely see sincerity. Unfortunately being from California, I often imediately get stuck with that stigma too. :( I'm not, I swear!

There are so many people who try so hard to dominate every conversation and be the center of attention too. To get away from a narcissist, I try to find two *ahem* "type A" personalitys together and watch them fight over out-doing themselves long enough to escape an long 'all about me speach'. haha.

I just appreciate good people even more when I'm lucky enough to come accross them.

I agree with almost everything you said, but as a vendor, I have to say that someone blogging about good or bad customer service is a great idea. I check feedback before shopping from a store. I put more weight in the good reviews than the bad, but there are quite a few online stores that I wish I would have been warned about before shopping there.

That goes with website customer service as well. Blogging about bad customer service on a website is also not a good thing to do. If that person continues to have bad service people will just stop shopping there. You may take someones policy personally when in actuality, they are just protecting themselves from

**** To feel the need to tear another person down on ANY level just to try & build yourself or have the feeling of controleup is not a very constructive way to be successful. I am not perfect by any account, my own insecurities had gotten the best of me in the very beginning. I was able to own up to my mistakes & have made some long life friends out of people who could have easily been enemies.

****** Try to have compassion for others even if they seem to be really horrible, . Never make assumptions, they may be going thru a difficult time & do not know how to handle their problems.

As a vendor, I certainly hope someone with a problem would come to me first rather than blogging about it. I try really hard to make sure my customers are happy with what they have, and if they are not, I try to make it right.

As for the rude models, I agree that they will hang themselves with their own rope, and I don't let it get to me (although it is irritating), but if a photgrapher or promoter asks me about a certain girl, I will definitely tell about my experience with her, good or bad. Fortunately most pinup models are sweet, especially the more successful ones (coincidence? I think not)

It's been my personal experience that people don't leave negative feedback for a store until they've already attempted to resolve an issue.

I've run into a few bad apples, but I just won't work with them again..Move on..So many models out there..For the most part, every bigger named pin up girl has been amazing and I've never had any divas, snobs, whatever you want to call them..I have a wish list of models I'd like to work with and I've heard many people tear them apart and say what b****** they were, it doesn't change how I feel about them because I'm a grown woman who can make up my own mind.


Just move on or try again if they are someone you are really interested in working with.
