Hi! So, Jonathan posted earlier about sending pin up pictures to the troops and I thought that was a really good idea. I was thinking that the madams could maybe figure out a way to get a care package together for the soldiers with the help of PL members. So, the first thing I wanted to ask is who would be interested in participating and maybe sending some prints in to be put in the package? I was thinking it could have pics and some other good stuff for them. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! I am strictly in "brainstorming mode", so feel free to give me any suggestions you may have. Eventually, I hope to have an address where we can send all of our things so that they can be collected and then sent off to the troops.

Also, militarywives.com has lists of ideas for what to include in care packages. I'm not a pinup (just a fan) but I would be happy to try and help in any other way I can. Let me know.
I have 10 guys in my platoon, I know its alot to ask but maybe you could make 10 differant boxes. Just send them to me and I will give them out here. Thanks again Girls, the positive feedback from you is amazing. We all miss the states, and there is no better moral boost than to look at a pin-up and know we will be home soon, thanks again,

I'm speaking with no authority here, but I think it's safe to say that 10 boxes shouldn't be a problem. We're glad to help out!

I would love to help in any way I can. Great idea!
Count me in! I'd love to help out!
10 boxes = no problem. :)

Like Wink said...I'm not speaking out of authority.
My ex husband is in the Army and when I sent him stuff the guys always asked for the non refrigerated Jello pudding. It's a great quick snack, and it can with stand just about any kind of temp outside. J-E-L-L-O =0)

Ok, You're going to laugh, but we did this when my daughter was in Girl Scouts...yes I was even a leader!
You can call your local GS office and they actually have lists of platoons that can be sent care packages, including what is most needed over there and how it should be packaged. I'm down to help any way time permits!
I'm a leader right now! I'll check with my coleader how to do this thursday!

This is a great idea. My dad is retired military and I'm a civil servant on an air force base and I know that a lot of the guys over seas would love this!
I'm an official sponsor of The Pin Up Angels - they have this kind of care package down to an art. I would be happy to put you in contact with the founding members if you haven't spoken to them already. Either PL could collaborate with them directly or at least get great tips from what the Angels have learned in their 500+ sent boxes.
