Classic Pump

My process as an artist includes the costuming of my models. I'm always looking for sources. One of the streams of my current project employs period characters from 1930 to 1960. I'm constantly in search of a source for footwear. It's just so much fun to flirt with all the lovely pin-up girls here but I landed here in the first place because I was doing research. Here's a style that I'd love to be able to get my hands on. It's just a basic suede pump but I think a masterpiece.

Nice to make your acquaintance Dottie. I"ve seen these shoes in countless vintage Hollywood glamour photos and in in tons of films but they're nowhere to be found. I"m hoping to encounter someone who's producing footwear with authentic vintage styling. There must be a niche market for this sort of product judging from the number of pin-up girls on this site alone.

I found my simplest, favorite, vintage-looking pumps at (no joke) Payless. I'd say keep an eye out. In another thread we were talking about how some of the best stockings are at K Mart. You just need to be open minded :)

You couldn't be more right! I've been at this for years and my radar is always on looking for beautiful women and things to dress them in. I've had some of my best costume ideas strolling the isles of the hardware store! Just not many shoes there.

Ah yes, the quest for the perfect pumps! found these a while back and thought they looked very classic they're a peep toe but what a great price. They have a very nice wearable heel and look very simply chic.

Okay, these aren't suede, but they are about the closest I have found so far. You never know what is going to be in style/available when you want it!

They aren't as pointy toed as they look, it's a short pointy toe so it looks half rounded/half pointy if that makes sense...

Those are pretty Dottie! I'm gonna have to head to payless it's one of the only places that makes shoes to fit my freakishly small feet.
