Michelle Obama's Inaguration Dress- RANT OF THE DAY

I am sorry.. but.. I could have made her a MUCH more attractive custom dress for MUCH less.. That thing was unattractive and would've made anyone look frumpy. It was NOT a knock off of Nancy Reagan's gown.. it was just an overdone mistake. Something that is going into the Smithsonian that reflects our 44th president's wife, our generation, our sensibility.. and it looks like that.
It makes me think like a futuristic sci-fi thriller.. One day that dress will probably be the one thing that survives to dictate style in the year 2009.. and everyone in the future will think we wore Togas.

However her lemongrass due by Toledo was a home run..

HAHA oh my god yes! I actually have an old sewing book that teaches you how to do tufted flowers, like by gathering and twisting the fabric before sewing, and it looks kinda like that.. but I wouldn't have used it all over the dress.. it wouldve worked better as an accent or something..

I agree that the lemongrass sheath/jacket was a knockout, but the white ballgown wasn't HORRIBLE. Although the "petals" did make it look a bit like one of those toilet paper wedding gowns one is sometimes forced to make at a bridal shower...
