Our very own Jen Ann Tonic tells all about her hair:

Hi everyone! I thought I would make life a little easier by telling everyone about my hair. I can't even tell you how often I get stopped in the grocery store (ESPECIALLY in the hum drum town I live in) to be asked about it. And I would LOVE to share with those lovely ladies that want to know my little beauty secret!

I have had this red hair since March 2005. Every three months or so I get my roots touched up. They have to bleach my roots since I have naturally black hair. The dye I use is Special Effects and coming from a family of hair stylists and growing up with many goth friends who have had an array of rainbow colors in their hair, it is the ONLY and the BEST brand to use for any color!

My hair never turns to that puke pink that red so often becomes with most other hair dyes. It becomes a more vibrant red, lighter, sometimes even magenta then orange but never runs out into that super light color. I touch up the red every 3-4 week or so. I also don't wash my hair every single day. Gals with bleached or process hair should NOT wash their hair every single day. Your hair needs natural oils to stay healthy and those come when your hair is a couple days unwashed, otherwise you're left with dry, frizzy hair.

My hairstylist is amazed every time I go in to see her because my hair is so healthy. She also deep conditions it every time I go in to get my roots done (again, every 2-3 months)

The color I use is called Blood Red. It's a little darker of a red. The other popular red color is Nuclear Red. The most popular pink is Atomic Pink (all by Special Effects) I do believe you have to purchase them online because I know if no stores that sell them.
