French pin up lifestyle

I'm a newbie in this community, therefore, my interest about pin ups is not exactly new. I've always loved a girl wearing nylons and heels, looking more or less pin up. My favorite period is the 50 / 60's, (both for pin ups and cars).

I enjoyed discovering that a lot of girls and guys love this lifestyle all over the world, but I have to note that it is among the english speaking world...

I wonder why french girls (and guys) are not as much attracted in this way. We are only a very few french people here...

Can somebody have an explanation?

Thanks a lot for your comment. You are certainly right with your explanation for it's true that in France we have not had such illustrations in the fashion field, although mybe a shy representation about hosiery, but very very shy...
I am a fan of Elvgren work and I buy every year a tear -off calendar representing his so lovely pin-ups...
I just received the premium calendar of pin up lifestyle which is quite different, but I love it a lot!

Whoops Forgive me, It was Alberto Vargas, and I do not think he was with Brown & Bigelow, but his body of work was extensive and really came to light when he came to America.

Pin up, and pin up lifestyle happens to be a very american genre. Much like jazz, the US created PIn up, and used that style for advertising from the 20=30's thru the 60's. With Artist such as Gil Elvgren, Al Buell, and even Antonio Vargas. They all were under employ with Brown & Bigelow advertising.
