Hiking in Riverside

I got back last night from my camping trip. We went to Hurky Creek off the 74 in Riverside, California. Let me start by saying that it was a great campground! There was a little bit for everyone. Including, hiking, fishing, bird watching and bike/horse trails. I didn't sleeping most of the night. It was alot colder at night than what it was suppose to be. It was suppose to be 45 degrees, but what it actually turned out to be was 27 degrees. Needless to say, I was a bit stiff getting out of my tent. Once I had defrosted in front of the campfire, I saw the most beautiful sunrise. This made the whole night worthwhile. I was so ready to go exploring.

I was lucky enough to enlist 2 other girls to go hiking with me. We grabbed our handy-dandy map and a bottle of water each and we were off! I had scoped out the trail the day before and pretty much knew which way I wanted to go. The vistas were breathtaking and I hope I had gotten some decent pictures with my point and shoot camera. The route we took was roughly about a 6 or 7 mile loop and I found one spot that would be great for a shoot.

There was this cluster of boulders that I decided to climb. There was an easy trail to get to one side of the boulder and a small climb to this virtually flat rock formation. Any way you turned the view was phenomenal! I was thinking of a couple ways of setting the scene. Maybe a picnic with the red check blanket laid out and a cute little basket while wearing a sundress or shortalls. I also thought of making it more rustic with a tent and wearing hiking boots with the little green shorts and maybe just a fisher vest or something. It's a perpetual thought in process.

Anyways, I hope to get the pictures developed tomorrow and then I'll post them in this blog. You never know where your muse will take you.
