The New Die-Cast Studio Seattle

Been working the last few days unboxing and moving into my new audio/video studio space. It's a huge single room with cinder block walls. My studio gets its name from all the die-cast cars I have on the walls. My last three studios have all been loaded with Johnny Lightnings, M2 Machines and Hot Wheels (one of my many hobbies). I still have a second Mac system to set up for video editing. In the middle pic… Continue

New Hot Rod Girls Save The World "Kustom Edition"

Spent a good chunk of the day revamping the Hot Rod Girls Save The World DVD cases for the new two disc "Kustom Edition" version that will be coming out in stores in a few months. The new edition has a Special Features disc with deleted scenes, trailers, behind the scenes and music videos. The film itself is a tighter edit with several scenes deleted and an alternative ending added after the rolling… Continue

Rat Rod Rockers! Screenplay & Blip.FM

Been working fairly diligently at finishing up the Rat Rod Rockers! screenplay and simultaneously uploading tracks to Blip.FM. Blip.FM (if you don't know) is a Twitter type website centered around "Blipping" songs from a massive database, combed from the internet. As a record label, Blip has allowed me to upload songs from my catalog. Since the songs are only "played" and not "downloaded" no money is involved. However many of the "Blips" have links to where listeners can purchase tracks (both… Continue

Rat Rod Rockers! Screenplay & Uploading Songs To YouTube

Finished the ending sequence for Rat Rod Rockers! but not the last third before the end. If that makes sense. I have the plan of action, just need to fill in the details. the first two thirds are scripted and ready to go. This is going o b a very cool little action film. I also have been uploading music to my YouTube pages. Yes music...I am using cover art from the CDs and making what I call Cover Art… Continue

Rat Rod Rockers! Screenplay & Quantum Communication

Worked on the screenplay all day yesterday. I'm at Scene 40 (which means nothing to you, but is around the half way point). Sketch and then detail. Thats how I've been writing Rat Rod Rockers!

Heard a really interesting Coast To Coast AM show last night with David Sereda talking about his new film "Quantum Communication." I was so intrigued that I bought his DVD this morning… Continue

Rat Rod Rockers! Car Chase Meeting

We had a meeting last night to sketch out ideas and locations for the car chase scenes in Rat Rod Rockers! Also setting crew (drivers and support) and talking to actor/drivers about how we would shoot the two major chases in the film. I want more elaborate chases than what we did for Hot Rod Girls Save The World. The biggest difference will be using a camera truck to follow the action. The longest chase… Continue

Harold's Theme & Sore Shoulders

Finished the basic scratch tracks for "Harold's Theme," for my upcoming film Rat Rod Rockers! I used a drum loop set from Beta Money's Blues Rock Series and then built up the guitars from there. Took about an hour of noodling to find a Peter Gunn style guitar line. I wanted something "spy like" as Harold is spying on the Mad Kats gang when you hear this theme. I used a Tele like Boss GT-3 guitar patch to get that low down digger sound. The Rat Rod Rockers! soundtrack is gonna be alot of fun to… Continue

I am getting addicted to twitter. Must...start...blogging...again. Spent the whole day dropping flyers for the Hot Rod Monsters Film Festival. I love driving around Seattle. My Encounter With The Ghost Of Kurt Cobain (True Story)

My band Kill Switch...Klick was playing a show at the OK Hotel (Seattle) shortly after the news of Kurt Cobain's suicide (middle of April). Not being big Nivana fans we had a twisted cover of Come As You Are in our set, in which I had sampled Killing Joke's Eighties (for those of you that don't remember Killing Joke had sued Nirvana, because the opening bass line for Come As You Are… Continue

Peugeot Wins Le Mans

Peugeot took the overall win at Le Mans this year with their number 9 car driven by David Brabham (whose brother Gary won with Peugeot 16 years ago), Marc Gené and Alexander Wurz. I watched all yesterday afternoon on Speed Channel. This is a big deal for the French as the race is French and Peugeot is French. Love watching the night racing (because of the time difference it was afternoon Pacific Time). I was rooting for the Audi diesels but it was not… Continue

Hot Rod Girls Save The World at Seattle Crypticon 2009

We had a blast on the film panel at this years Crypiticon. Got to show a 10 minute clip of Hot Rod Girls Save The World and then do a Q&A session about the film and film making in general. Had around 80-90 attentive people in the Lopez Room where the panel was held. Before the panel, waiting outside to get in, I was talking with Adam Gerke (Traffic Guy from Seattle FOX Q13 TV) about his new Zombie film called The Book Of Zombie, about a Mormon only zombie disease that effects a small Mormon… Continue

Top Secret Weekend Photo Shoot

Spent all day Sunday helping with creative input for a photo shoot we set up for an article I am writing for Car Kulture Deluxe. Can't say much- it's kinda hush hush, but it includes some wicked Fords, Hot Rod Heidi and was shot by Mr.Ric Merry. This one is on the fast track so it should be in print very soon.
