- HELLO IM THE DOLL, aka MIMI LARUE! NICE TO MEET YOU!!
Im your classic old school stay at home wife, and mommy to two of the words most amazing little fellas residing in good ol' Oklahoma! Im also your friendly neighborhood pinup doll. I din't start out this way of course, being a pinup is a path I chose but a life that seemed to choose me. After being introduced to the pinup and rockabilly scene at the age of 16 by my husband I felt like I had discovered something that was always meant to be who I was. I grew up with a very strong influence and connection from my Grandma who was born in 1941. growing up on old movies, music and stories of her days as a youth in the 50's, the vintage life style seemed to be a perfect fit for me. I fell so in love with the life style, and the beautiful pinup girls but like most women second guessed my ability to carry such a confident look and attitude. I quietly studied pinup and the rockabilly life style for five years just dreaming of how much I wanted to be apart of it. Finally after becoming a wife and mother to my first son I decided to get brave and just go for it. So I set my camera up on self timer propped up on my sons walker and started my page here. After finding some local photographers to shoot with I had some good professional photos to start sharing with the pinup community and make connections. It was very exciting and I felt so brave and proud of myself for doing something I loved for so long. Although the people I had admired that were good friends of mine who inspired me in the life style turned on me and tried to bring me down at every turn (which was horribly heart breaking) I still dried my eyes, and pushed forward determined not to stop. I put a lot of heard work into my photos, and meeting others in the industry that I could learn and grow from.
It has now been a few years since I have started and I still don't consider myself a "model" really. More so just a pinup momma that loves sharing something that is so important to her with others who enjoy it too. In three years time I have started my page, been brave enough to do real photo shoots, have been published in many amazing pinup magazines including writing a column for one, become a model for a top pinup styled swim suit designer, started my own You Tube channel, helped support and work with many amazing small businesses, have my page reach over 70,000 followers, meet amazing people I never thought I would including make life long friendships with some, start a campaign to show other women how beautiful they are no matter what their size or shape is, and most importantly discover a strength and confidence in myself as a woman I never thought I had.
I hope to continue doing what I am and to reach new goals and be involved in many more amazing projects. I want to continue sharing my knowledge in the pinup style and showing other women that no matter who you are, what you look like, what size your body is that you are beautiful and can be whoever you want to be no matter what anyone else thinks about it. No one has the right to say what road your life should take or what life style makes you happy. We are all born with a purpose and path and until we find the right one we cant fully embrace it. I know that being a pinup is what I was born for and is who I am. Its not just an image to me its a confidence and strength I carry and share with others everyday and I want all women to know they can have it too. I AM PINUP HEAR ME ROAR!!
My family and boys will always come first in my life. Being a pinup is who I am so there is no shaking that. I will continue supporting this life style and teaching others about it along the way. I don't want to just be pretty pictures.... I want to be remembered for what I stood for and what I shared with the world, just like Bettie Page. And I want to take you all along for the ride, so hang on to your victory rolls!
A little about me as a Pinup~~
I wouldnt call myself a professional pinup model I just am who I am and thats a little pinup doll who takes photos to share with the world and to inspire others in the pinup life style. I am involved in pinup modeling and I am very professional, but I dont believe I have reached the point where I can call myself a professional pinup model. I love anything and everything that is involved in this work and this life style. I have been learning and growing so much in the Kustom Kulture life style over the past few years and it has been such a good time. I dont know everything about it by far, but it is something I love and respect and it means a lot to me and who I have become over the past seven years of my life. I want to do more with this then just be in magazines and take photos. I want to show people that you can do anything you want with your life. All you have to do is love it and put your heart into it. I want to share the courage and self confidence I have gained from doing something out side of my comfort zone and that truly is important to me.
I do only classic style, cheesecake and rockabilly style pinup, but I love and respect every style that is involved. Ive studied and read a lot of different things and have learned quite a bit on the style and where it came from. I learn every shoot and learn even more every time I meet a new person that shares my love in this. I am an honest hard working wife and mother and I just want to do something that helps other women out there like me. Normal, everyday, struggles and hard ships kind of women that can do anything they want. This is something that is very close to my heart and means very much to me. I have been working very hard getting this all going and one of the best things that has come out of it are all the amazing people I have met because of my work. I will keep going and push until my dream has become reality, and I will take anyone I come across that helps and supports me right along with me to the top. I have along way to go, and it will be a while if ever I make it to the greats like Bettie Paige, or Sabina Kelley. I will work my tail off trying thats for sure! I AM PINUP HEAR ME ROAR!

The Vintage Dolls Body & Self Love Campaign~~
This campaign is about teaching others to accept people as they come no matter what size or shape that may be and to not judge them based on their body types. To look into what is real and what makes a person who they are. To look at their hearts and not judge. Some people like me are naturally really thin, some are naturally thick and curvy. Some bodies are based of lifestyle and diet. No matter why a body is the size and shape it is, no one has the right to rate a persons beauty on that alone. People's bodies are not all up for discussion on what you personally find sexually attractive, the perfect size, or beautiful. It is time we stand together and show people that sometimes keeping your opinions to yourself needs to come second to walking in love towards everyone just the way they are. Please stand with me in helping stop the stealing of beauty worldwide by negativity and hate throughout the Internet, social media, comment feeds, and everyday life. Lets show the world what real beauty looks like by acting like the beautiful people we were created to be!!!
