(a) Get yourself a capsule wardrobe of the basic essentials, lots of good UK suppliers inc Pin Up Parade, Google em and look at their online store. They also have a good book for DIY retro hairstyles. View some of the video make up tutorials on here and practise your eyebrows, lashes and lippy technique. Then locate one of the specialist pin up togs in your area. They would only be too happy to do TFCD (time for cd). Several good ones are already on here. I would volunteer but am probably too far away.
(b) Take a look at the Casting Couch and Nina's Hair Parlour websites. They are in Alfies Market in London. You can get a quick make over and hairstyle from Nina then book into Tony's place next door for a photo session. It will cost you but it is a very quick route to getting some styling tips and a ready made portfolio.
(c) Make friends with some of the models on here who are quite close to you. Frankie is one of the best retro gals around and would probably enjoy sharing her beauty tricks with you.
