Unfortunately, most of my absinthe experience comes from a bar I frequent and drinks get kind of expensive. If there isn't a bar aroudn you that serves it, you might see if there are some underground absinthe parties in your area where you could try a few at once and really get a feel for the drink... If you're just looking to pick up a bottle and give it a shot I would suggest checking bevmo.com, they have a decent selection, but they all run about $50+ a bottle, last I checked though they have a one shot taster of something I've never tried for a couple bucks, but I can't attest to it's quality.
