- Iskra Valentine is a Perth based neo burlesque and performance artist specialising in riot grrrl rockaburly and bollywood burlesque. Brought up in ultra conservative Peshawar, Pakistan, Iskra is a walking talking paradox. Her performance pieces vary from the bizzare to the political.
Iskra also runs her own vintage/retro hair and makeup artistry business under the name Vixen Express. Theres nothing this girl cant do. You name it, she's not only tried it..she has owned it!
With a background in Indian Kathakali dancing, a passion for performance art and a penchant for all things vintage, Iskra Valentine has a unique perspective on burlesque in today's world. When not performing with her burlesque troupe, Noir Boudoir Burlesque, Iskra can be found writing burlesque and performance art related articles for Perth zines, feminist publications and webzines.
