Tell us a little about yourself! (details or get declined)
I am a fashion-designer from Berlin, with roots in Bulgaria. And that’s why I came up with this name. It’s a wordplay and means pearl from the Black-Sea as well as black seapearl, which to me stands for tiki, playfulness and retro - so both meanings are representing parts of my personality. Blackseapearl is a label for fashion accessoires with a little touch of retroglamour.All totes and handbags have special details - like bamboohandles, stitching motives.....some of them are made of new old stock vintage fabrics and borders. I design the great, shiny embroideries myself and I am putting much attention on precise and quality workmanship. Each bag is handmade and absolutely unique - so you cannot find a second one. This bag collection is made for women looking for something new and extravagant and love to show their femininity. The designs actually complete the current fashion well. They match several styles.

Mariana Ahrens is a fashion designer from Berlin, but her Bulgarian roots are the inspiration behind the name she has chosen for her label, a wordplay on Pearl of the Black Sea. These one of a kind, handmade accessories hark back to the 50s and 60s in their playful and vibrant colours and designs. Mariana puts love and care into the making and unique details of every bag, ensuring each one is exceptional quality and an original piece. Bamboo handles, fancy stitching, embroidery and vintage fabrics are just a handful of the available touches. Despite their retro vibe, they manage to go great with most of today’s styles.
