"We Are The New Vintage"
Gaulthier - Urban Tribal
One of out projects at fashion school was to trace the development of a design from basic sketch through to finished project. We had to choose an image we loved and backwards-engineer it from there.
The French Vogue photos for JPG's urban tribal collection from the mid-90's (?) were exquisite, and the models equally so. It was an obvious choice, despite the complicated prints and jewellery I would have to somehow reproduce.
Oh yeah, I'd never painted anything that wasn't a simple pattern design before and never with watercolours.
Once again, NIN "broken" to the rescue and a few hours later I awoke from my fugue to find this.
