"We Are The New Vintage"
Hi all,
I am from Scotland but just moved to Vancouver and plan on staying here for a good 6 months. I have been doing some research on places to go and things to do in the city and am very aware that the Vancouver Burlesque Festival is taking place in May.
As a newbie to the city, where are good places to go for a rockabilly fan?! I like to hang out with like minded people and know a few places have burlesque evenings which I am definitely going to check out. Where are the best area's of the city to find vintage shops and places which sell rockabilly/50's inspired clothes? Back home there is an excellent retro boutique which does hair and make up lessons to get that 40's and 50's style......does anyone know anywhere which does something like that here?
Clearly I am full of questions! But I figured I would come to the experts :)
Thanks,
Roxie xx

Hi Roxie,
Kitty Nights is a weekly burlesque night on sundays. It's a lot of fun and a great place to meet people. It's a super friendly place. There's Rockabilly Roundup almost monthly aswell and the Burly scene here is huge...always something when it comes to that...
For shopping check out Scout Boutique (just of Main Street), Lace Embrace (for beautiful corsets) Deadly Couture for Fetish wear and New World for Rockabilly and other Alternative styles..
Welcome!
Hey,
Thank you so much for the advice! I had heard about Kitty Nights so will be getting myself along to that pronto! Will keep my eyes and ears out for other events happening too.
A girl can never have too many corsets :)
xx
