"We Are The New Vintage"
I am just curious for those of us with regular boring day jobs do you wear your hair all dolled up with victory rolls, and curls galore at work? I think if I did I would surely stick out! I love these hair styles and wish I had a personal stylist that could do it for me everyday ;)

i rock the roll almost everyday to work :) i work as a barista at a coffee shop :) it stands out for sure but it makes me feel good about myself
I hate to say it but I look up all of my stuff for hair on you tube. I've found it's a little bit easier to learn how to do different hairstyles from vids on there. An I love to do bettie bangs with a bandana around my head then put curls in my pony tail an pin them up :) That's usually what I do for a quick look because my curler gets hot fast :)
Personally, I LOVE to do my hair for work! Sometimes I don't bother because I wake up at 4:30am and that is just way too early some days. I think it's great to incorporate pinup style into your work wear or to go all out head to toe, as long as it is professional and ok with your employer. I am lucky, I have a job with no dress code (seriously! Well, they don't want us wearing pjs or revealing stuff but sweats are even ok). We can be as tattooed as we want, wear what we like, have crazy colored hair if we choose, etc.
I agree with Roxy Tart, wear what makes you feel best! I know I am the most productive, creative and happy at work when I feel like myself. If the dress code doesn't allow for really outrages styles, go with classic waves/soft curls. You will stand out and get noticed, but as long as you keep it professional/within the dresscode, it'll be a good thing! ;)
I work in Mc Donalds, but obviously not on the same planet as you because our uniform is 10000 x more ugly than that! flat covered plain black flat fully covered shoes, baseball cap and a horrible polo shirt with the worlds biggest badge stating out name to all imposing idiots that like to shout it in your face repeatedly! And just to make you feel like even more of a tw!!t they give you 4 different stars if you complete your training. And its all in colours like off white, with mustard and kale green with a hint of aubergine. Any poor customer will walk in and instantly want to throw up! Anyway rant over. At least you can just say "I aint coming in next week" and you get it off as paid holiday.
we are not aloud any of our hair showing under our hats unless it's in a hairnet (which ultimately are so cheap they come off and go into food anyway) and red lipstick gets you called a prostitute in my store which just leaves me with cat winged eye liner. ..... Can NOT wait to get a new job when my baby is a bit bigger!! lol
I work for a corporate makeup retailer so I almost always try to come in looking glam. Usually I just do very soft waves/curls. Occasionally I'll jazz my hair up with a bandana or a cute little bow. If I really want to go all out I will rock victory rolls.
I'm really, really, really lucky with my job as a cocktail waitress/hula girl in a tiki bar so pin up style is kinda compulsory uniform. It's victory rolls and red lipstick a go go!
My mum works in a school (a Catholic girls school at that too!) but she still goes with the red lipstick and just twists her hair back with a big old flick at the front. The only thing they won't let her do is put a blonde streak in her flaming red hair!
I don't generally have time for anything fancy in the mornings.... If I do, it's usually just a quiff, brightened up with leopard print/polka dot/bright red/purple slides at the back to hide the pins. Or I just pin the sides back, works well if I've had to in a curled style the day before and it still has some kind of shape or bounce....! I can hardly get to grips with full victory rolls even when I do have the time :( Will keep trying!
