I am just curious for those of us with regular boring day jobs do you wear your hair all dolled up with victory rolls, and curls galore at work? I think if I did I would surely stick out! I love these hair styles and wish I had a personal stylist that could do it for me everyday ;)

Going to give this a bump as I'm starting a new job on Wednesday. I have a Bettie bang at the moment, but generally do soft curls most days. I don't think I could get away with full on victory rolls, but I don't mind the sides being flipped back a bit.

I'm struggling with the dress code being casual (as in my supervisor will wear jeans often) *L*

I usually 'let my hair down' so to speak when i work on saturdays. During the normal working week I just have my hair down and straight (i have chin-length blonde hair) however, on saturdays at work i'll either curl it MM style or wear a bandana rockabilly style, like i did today, it was a pink gingham one i made last week. i have pink, red, blue and purple so far lol :) I always get a lot of good comments too when i do my hair different at weekends, just wish i had the time in the week

I think that sort of thing would depend on the sort of job you have and what the work atmosphere calls for/allows. I have a few friends who have office jobs of various positions and do go in all dolled up and it's fine. My own hair now is a short bob so I don't worry too much about what the folks at my day job say. What is it that you'll be doing? What kind of vibe do you get from the boss?

Wear what makes you feel the best. If your work has an issue with it they can bring it to you and you can ask what appropriate and whats not.

A couple of good quotes to remember, in life and in work, are "it's better to be over dressed then underdressed" and "dress for the life you want, not the life you have".

A great idea for work is to pick one signature hair style and do it all the time. That way, you'll be able to do it perfectly and quickly every time (no need for a personal stylist). Something easy like a Rosie bandana, a single roll, or a pomp is a great way to start.

I always try to put a little pin up in my wardrobe from day to day, whether its just simple cat eyes, or a pomp in my hair with a few curls. On the mornings when I actually have to time I'll do the whole outfit and hair. Whatever you have time for and makes you feel fabulous, you should do. Enjoy your style to the fullest!

I wish i could do my hair more pin-up or 40s/50s style at work, i dont suppose anyone has any easy 10min ideas of things I can try?

thank you Roxy!! i'll give them a go :)

Same with the cat-eyes. More often than not, it's my eye-makeup style of choice, unless it's a really casual day.

I find myself doing a faux bang roll or pincurls almost every day. And I'm doing heavy lifting or thrifting in dirty places!
