The 1940s are my favorite....fashion wise the women were forced to be soooo versatile due to wartime rations. They recycled wardrobe pieces and made a lot of their own. Remaining elegant while picking up the responsibilites left to them has always drawn me to that era!

I'm a 50's gal myself. I just love everything about that era... the style, the cars (anything modeled in '56 is my fave), the music, and the thirst for technological advancements to simplify even the smallest things in everyday life... I mostly love how the "American Dream" was really alive during the 50's. People worked hard and had ethics. There was no such thing as recession, and men went to work while women tended to their home and children. Things were simple then.

I love the 1930's to the 1940's and some of the 1950's, however sometimes I just want to put on a flapper dress and finger wave my hair and go out dancing like the Bright Young Things of the 1920's. So basically I appreciate most of 1920-1960 aha.

I agree with you there Tessa....they were much simpler back then. It seemed somewhat peaceful and ETHICS were very important. Our society today has lost quite a bit of it.
