What's the best thing about where you live?

I just read an interesting article from CNNmoney.com on the 100 Best Places to Live in America. In the article, they first show only the top 10, and with the exception of one or two, most of these places seemed fairly small and obscure - probably why they made the list.

So this got me thinking, since there are so many amazing cities and towns in the world, where do the beautiful people of PL live and what's your favorite thing about it? Do you plan on staying where you are or is there somewhere you think is more fitting for you?

I think Santa Monica is one of the greatest places in the world, people come from all over for the year-round perfect weather and laid back atmosphere. I actually live just up the hill from Santa Monica in Playa Del Rey, it's really quiet, my apartment's fantastic. I moved about a month ago from Fresno and I couldn't ask for more perfect place for me, I hope to stay here forever! I'm a California Girl at heart!

I live in Pacifica, CA. It's right on the ocean and has small-town charm. Plus, it's 15 from San Francisco. Everything I could ever want is within a few hour's drive of where I live!

I'm originally from Dallas, and moved to Kansas City a little over 5 years ago. All of my friends that were born and raised here are pretty much bored of the place, but since I'm from a city that's always expanding in every aspect, it's nice to be somewhere with roots. The downtown area is chock full of old buildings, we have memorials, galleries, and museums galore, and the Lewis and Clark trail runs right through KC as well. We also have parks and conservations out the yin-yang. There's so much to even begin and mention, but that's just what I love, off the top of my head.
Then there's also the fact that nightlife is decent here. There's something going on, on any given day of the week. We have a plethora of venues for concert usage. Plus, we have a decent Pin Up and Rockabilly scene. There's only two major car show/gatherings that take place per year, but I take what I can get, lol.
Oh, and BBQ. People make a big deal about it, but it's got nothin' on Texas BBQ. ;0]

I live in Cali now, but I'm originally from Montana and I loved it there. It has plenty of small town charm and the mountains are beautiful! I miss it dearly!

Im From San Jose Ca, And I love it here! Its a big city But still small enough! Right Smack in the middle OF EVERYTHING!

45 mins to SF
30 mins to Santa Cruz
Reno just a drive away
SO- CAL Few hours drive

We are very friendly here! Its very Diverse!
