What's the one style you love to hate?

I have been chatting with friends on another site and it came to my attention that there are a TON of fashion trends that I seriously DISLIKE! Heck, border on LOATHE even. LOL

 

So now I bring the discussion to my PL peeps! What is the one fashion fad that you simply CAN NOT STAND?! It can be from any era, decade, country... whatever and wherever!

 

Post up those pics people! But please remember! KEEP IT NICE IN HERE! We don't want people arguing about what they think is best.

 

Fashion is all a matter of opinion anyway!

This may be a resurgence of the plaid grunge style. Ugh... no please. Plaid- yes. Plaid un-tucked, wrinkled and mismatched- NO.

I know!!!! It's crazy!! A friend showed this to me as an upcoming trend in Japan. EEK! Sadly, I've seen versions of it here in LA this summer.

are those jeans for real!! I hope thats one trend we do not see here in New Zealand. what really irks me here are people that wear their flannel pj pants and ugg boots to the mall or grocery shopping.

Those Jeans are from a few years ago, when the "thong out" craze was going on. An article about them from March 2009 said:

Wow, i have never seen those thong jeans....just awful. I have to agree i hate pretty much everything on here, the hipsters, tacky 70s, mom jeans, uggs. I really hate oversized clothing and I don't mean buying shirts that are xxxxxl for them but i mean just shapeless huge clothing. It seems to me that the fashion trend is shapeless, huge t-shirts covering girls' forms and not giving any figure. :(

In no particular order.

 

1.  Skinny jeans...The greatest joke perpetrated on women by the clothing industry.  Unless you're a size 0-4 you look like a lollipop, which trust me is not a good look.

 

2.  Douche bag/Date Rapist Fashion....Ed Hardy, Tap Out, anything embroidered or shiny or tight.  It doesn't make you more attractive to the ladies, it only makes you look like a clown...a very creepy clown.

 

3.  Slob Fashion...Flip Flops, sweat pants, pajamas, t-shirts.  If you look like you just got out of bed, you should stay in bed.

4.  Faux Retro...Betty Bangs, Hair Flowers, Red Belts.  This isn't fashion, this is costume.  Like going to Spencer's or Hot Topics to look "alternative". 

 

Oh and don't get me started on corsets and hot pants or as I like to call it,  "Hooker Billy".

I must agree!! I f****** HATE hipsters too! And I swear I've seen these people hanging out in Toronto...which is the hipster capital of the world. Yes, it sucks to live here... : ( At least that webpage cheered me up. Thanks for sharing the link. lol  : P

Oh the Uggs with shorts! LOL! I have done that cause my feet get really cold but my legs dont. Though my shorts aren't *that* short! Well maybe not all of them.

 

And the 70's... goodness what were people thinking? I blame the late 60's.

I think it's safe to say that the 1970s was a frankly dangerous time for fashion (don't get too close to naked flames in those jumpsuits!) so why oh why has the fashion world brought it back? And the truly sad thing is people will buy it! I just know they will! They're told its in fashion so they will go to the mall and stock up on polyester shirts, flared jeans and dodgy metallic platform boots! So I suppose my biggest pet style hate is: Lack of Identity.

 

On another note I hate Uggs (Correct me if I'm wrong but they were originally called Uggs because they were so UGGly!) and leggings! I own a pair which I wear under my trousers if it gets really cold and other than that they stay at the back of my drawers!
