"We Are The New Vintage"
Tags:
I've found that a lot of "destination" wedding dresses tend to have a more vintage glamor appeal to them than anything, although it really depends on what *kind* of vintage you're looking for. Frilly? Lacy? Poofy? Form fitting?
When I did the whole wedding thing, I wanted something with a Hollywood glamor feel to it. Although I regret that day more than anything, I really did love the dress. It was very low cut in the back, sparkled like the dickens, and had a train that was absolutely to die for.
I had bought it at a local bridal boutique brand new (the very day it arrived, in fact, and for only $850.00). It was made by Allure Bridal, and can still be found in their "Far and Away" collection. Everyone that was in attendance swore up and down that they were convinced it was vintage couture.
My biggest piece of advice, is to be very cautious when it comes to purchasing online. As amazing as most websites are, you never know how you'll like the dress in person. Try giving a few boutiques a shot and let them know what you're looking for. I'm sure you'll find your dream dress.
Oh, and stay as far away from David's Bridal as possible. Very far.

I actually had this on my desktop from the other day, I really like the one at the top to the right.
