This is where you want to make that memorable first impression to the massive PL member base. Tell us about yourself what you stand for, or what you contribute to the lifestyle! If you have a business, tell members about your products and why they should buy from you!

Try and create posts that will get other members to post comments so that it will get repeat activity thus exposing your services to new members.

Members, Site Sponsors, and general vendors you now have a place to SELL SELL SELL! Oh, and SWAP!

You can create as many unique posts as you want. Similar to Craigslist or eBay, you can make a single post per item if you want.

You may also delete your old post and relist it to get pushed back to the top of the listings.

You get points for different types of site activity. Inviting your friends in the industry yields the most points, followed closely by creating posts in the Forum and commenting on photos.

And just on a side note, posting banners in comments is not part of free advertising. To spare our members tons of spam on their comment walls, we reserve banner posting (by businesses) for paid advertisers. And only then do we allow a "Welcome" message. Our members are constantly commending us for not being overrun with ads and banners, and we'd like to keep it that way.

This is a great point, and really how the forums should be. As a business thought I understand too how we want to try and promote in any way possible. There are better ways of course like buying banner ads, which also supports pinuplifestyle thereby supporting the scene. ;-)

UPDATE: Because of the ability for each individual user to moderate their profile and comment wall, this rule has been lifted. However, we have created a vendor-specific forum category that is much more efficient. A single post reaches everyone, and you won't get your feelings hurt when someone deletes your comment! ;)
