I had a great score last Saturday at a street festival here in Toronto. A vintage 50's navy blue dress for $10!! Sweet! : ) I'm gonna have to go to this store more often..I had no idea it existed. It looks authentic..judging from the label but I'm not really sure what year it was made..are there any experts on that here? It says "Union Made-Canada" you know that's old school becuase everything is made in China now..rofl. : P
it sounds legit, check this link, it has some good info on "Union Made" Labels: Ebay Clothing Guide Union Labels

I am also a huge fan of estate sales, my husband and I scope Craigslist, grab donuts and coffee, and scout them out early Saturday Mornings. Most of our furniture was acquired this way <3

I recently got some nifty earrings, a purse and 2 vintage dresses at an estate sale this past weekend. And one of those little hats with the netting veil. I love those. All for under $30! I don't have any pics, except for the hat which is in my profile.

I LIVE for estate sales! I used to live in a neighborhood where pretty much all of my neighbors were elderly, so there was always an estate sale going on.
I picked up 5 pairs of vintage style sunglasses at the weekend for £1 each! Love them all so much! Although, one pair does make me look slightly like Lady Gaga...

I'll get some pics on here soon.
pics, or it never happened! hehe

When we went to Fort Bragg this weekend, we visited my favorite used book store. I got a shitload of books, but these are prolly the most interesting:
Photobucket
"Let's Be Safe" by Benjamin Darling. "Containing Such Useful Informaion as the Avoidance of Strangers and Their Candy, How Not to Be Run Over by a Car, and How Generally Not to Cut Oneself Open." Published in 1994 but it's got that fun retro theme going on.
"The Scandals of Clochemerle" by Gabriel Chevallier. "The book that made France blush! fifty million frenchmen can't be wrong!!!" Originally published in 1937, second printing January 1948. This book is literally falling apart, but I got it for 35 cents!
I also got a 1927 edition of Madame Bovary.
There was also a painting in the bookstore I wanted, but it wasn't for sale.
Janis Joplin painting
Nice,and original skates!!!!
xxxx
I found this couch in a local thrift store. The label says it's from 1971...which is about right (it's RUST ORANGE! how cool is that?!?!) It's clean, it doesn't smell, and it's SUPER cushy!

I got this baby for $80!

Niiiiice. I <3 sectionals. I have a huge one, myself. I sleep on it more than I do in my own bed. =0p
