Tattoo Removal....please share your experiences (or thoughts)

OK, I have 100% for sure decided that I want the tattoo on my chest removed. I have been doing some research, there are a few places here in town that do consultations for a small fee, so I think I am gonna check it out soon to get a price quote so I can start saving. This means alot to me, I REALLY want it gone.

Have any of you here had laser tattoo removal? If so, what was your tattoo like (how big, what color, where on your body)?

How much did it cost?

Did it hurt more than getting a tattoo or less (I have heard both)?

Some people get plastic surgery to feel more confident, this is pretty much my version of that. This s*** (and it literally IS s***, bad quality tattoo to boot) on my chest is hurting my self-esteem and confidence really bad. It's a HUGE regret I live with every day and it's killing me. It takes away from my femininity and causes people to throw huge judgements at me that are FAR from the truth. It affects my current job and earning potential, and I also feel it limits me in modeling ventures, too. More than anything though, it's affecting my mental health. I know once it's gone I will have my full confidence back, open the doors for a more diverse modeling path, and I'll be earning much, much more money.

Also, has anyone here tried "Wrecking Balm"? Again, mixed reviews. I have read some that said it works, best thing ever, then others say it's a total scam and doesn't work at all.

Thanks!

I'd personally avoid Wrecking Balm

The best results I've heard of are from a Q-switched laser (Alexandrite: 755 nm for fair skin and dark ink)
and make sure that you ask how many treatments using the Kirby-Desai Scale, which from what I read is the standard predictive scale

bmezine has some in progress pics if you poke around their site

good luck

most days I think I don't have enought tattoos and then I worry have to many! And I always liked your chest tattoo!!!
I saw a video of a guy getting hand tattoos removed on MTV Tru Life, and he was in agony. So good luck to you of you can do it!!!
I've never had a tattoo removed, so I can't help you with info... But I can totally understand your decision. If you feel like you need to do it to feel better about your body, go for it!

Good luck with your consultations.

Thought I'd bump this thread back up to share my solution to the problem I was having with my tattoo....
When all else fails......cover it up! Well, not exactly covered, but added onto. The problem wasn't that I minded having a tattoo on my chest, it was the TATTOO itself that was the problem.

I saved some money up and made an appointment with my very good friend who has done work on me in the past....she came up with a design and I was sold. This is just my linework.....I go for color in a few days so I'll post some pics!

I already feel 100% better and my confidence is back big time. This is gonna be such a beautiful piece that I am gonna be proud of!

It looks gorgeous! *jealous*

i have done this. i am on my 6th treatment with laser and it almost gone. i dont think its that painful at all. it makes you flinch a little but nothing like getting a tattoo. i would do it. i will probably laser a bit off my chest as well in the near furture.
I love it!!! You are beautifull dont ever let anyone tell you otherwise!
Bored tonight, thought I'd share pics from my second session.....I still need one more, going to put red in the roses and work on the anchor piece. I'm waiting until I come back from vacation to get it finished.....don't want to be worrying about a healing tattoo on the beach in Florida! And PS......my sales at work have been GREAT since I have had this done, not sure if it's the fact I am more confident or one step closer to "heavily tattooed" ....seems guys either like girls to be covered or not at all....
