Here at PinupLifestyle, we're all about some serious girl power. I just stumbled onto some awesome illustrations of classic superheroines and thought about how much I just love the idea of female heroes! Kids of this generation need some strong beautiful women to look up to like we did. I feel like aren't many left... Sad. But then again, maybe I'm out of touch. I remember Powerpuff Girls, are there any other newer supergirls??

Let's see some of your favorite superheroines and awesome illustrations of them!

Jean Grey from The X Men

Susan Storm aka The Invisible Woman of The Fantastic 4

Yeah, that's a bit strange..I prefer the old look.
But I like what DC did with the new Batwoman..making her a lesbian and all that..fun! I bought a couple of issues and I'll get more at the Comic cons. Here's a drawing I did of her..ta da!!

Cycling back to pin up, I almost forgot about Sally Jupiter from WATCHMEN.
she looks SO much different in the movie than in the original graphic novel, but i love her look nonetheless.
I love it so much, that I'm planning on cosplaying as her (dressing up in costume, for you non-con goers) during the San Diego Comic Con.
Why not, right? lol

OMG! How did I forget Tank Girl!! Love love love her!

I never knew this till I looked it up, but Sheena is the 1st female comic book character to get her own title : ) In the 1980s one of the greatest artist, Dave Stevens, who created the Rocketeer, did some cover illustrations for her.

According to Wikipedia:

"She was the first female comic-book character with her own title, with her 1937 (in Great Britain, 1938 in the United States) premiere beating Wonder Woman #1 (December 1941). Sheena, herself a distaff Tarzan, inspired a wealth of similar comic-book jungle queens. She was predated in literature by Rima, the Jungle Girl, introduced in the 1904 William Henry Hudson novel Green Mansions."
