So, I have my first photo shoot tomorrow. I have very light skin and notice that I look better in photos after a spray tan, but I've never done in-studio pinup shots before. To spray tan or not to spray tan? Please help me out, ladies!

FYI... I also have platinum hair.
NO DON'T DO IT! Toooooo often fresh spray tans are ORANGE on camera. Don't make the mistake of capturing an oompa loompa in your first studio pinup shots, TRUST ME.

Okay. Thanks! Any other last minute advice?
Props help GREATLY with a first shoot, it gives your hands and eyes and expressions something to play off of, whether it be something as easily obtainable as a Coca-Cola bottle or something more elaborate the studio may have, ask to start off with a prop! A few frames in you'll loosen up and find your flow, good luck and make hotness!
DON'T DO IT!!!!!!!!!!  white skin is good for pictures
Edson is sooooo right, most spray tans are really really orange especially the first day but there is some cream called Perfekt that will smooth the skin tone. I used it my last shoot, and it made my fairly pale skin look pretty yummy. Sephora carries it!

honestly, it can go both ways. it really depends on your photographer, how they light, and their style of editing. I can say that I am constantly toning down orange spray tans in the editing process, so much that I dont give it a second thought and it only takes me about 30 secs. BUT, this will only be corrected for your allotted edits and the rest will be orange. Most girls still want to use and post unedited photos, so you may get more bang for your buck to NOT spray tan:) I also can say that shooting extremely pale skin can hide those beautiful accents on your stomach and legs etc..everything can get blown out. Either way, if you have a good photographer they will take care of skin tones, your job is to have fun!
I am a photographer, and I always BEG my girls not to spray tan (or any kind of tan) before a photo shoot.  Icky.

Ispray tan every summer, all summer. If you want to do it before a shoot, try to go 3 days before. That will give your tan a chance to fade a bit, even out and look more natural. I like a slight tan to cover imperfections, the trick is getting it to look natural. It takes some practice, whether you do it your self or have it done. NEVER get a tan the day of or before a shoot, like the others said, you will look orange.

For the shoot if you want to cover skin imperfections, there is body make up you can buy, or just get a good/heavy coverage foundation that matches your skin. And remember, a good photographer will get rid of any "bad" stuff in photoshop.

Have fun!!

I personally hate spray tans, and suggest nude (NOt tan)sheer to the waist pantyhose for your photos.
i just think that pinup styles are best with untanned skin,( I think of Marilyn or Bettie skin), not tanned skin. i debate with tanning also, but i know it wasnt part of the style then, lol
