ok, i'm pretty embarassed to admit, but i have never really taken care of my skin. i rarely even wash my make up off at night (gasp!)... but i'm about to turn the dreaded 3-0 and i think it's time to stop avoiding the fact that my skin is going downhill fast. so i need to know what kind of products do you guys use? i guess i need a basic make up remover, a cleanser? and i also would like tips on what to do about puffiness and bags under my eyes. any help is appreciated!

My favorite make up remover is Lancome. best I've ever used. Mary Kay comes in second on my list.

As for face wash, start with something gentle, like Purpose, or Cetaphil. Both good and very basic. For something stronger that takes off make up, I love Philosophy Purity. It gets everything off, without needing a separate make up remover.

And don't forget a moisturizer with sunscreen!! Us over 30 girls don't wanna be getting wrinkles now do we?
I use Olay products for cleansing, moisturizing, and de-wrinkling, and MAC makeup remover. Get plenty of sleep, drink lots of water, and use sunscreen; the three best things you can do for your skin.
I agree with Queen April - proper sleep, drinking LOTS of water, and using sunscreen are so important. I used to have great skin when I was younger, then I hit my late-twenties and I started to get acne! And I noticed a few teensy weensly lines around my eyes (everybody else says they can't see them, but I can). So, I knew I had to step up my regimen. In addition to the above, I now use an eye cream to prevent those tiny lines from turning into full-on wrinkles and I get a spa facial a couple of times a year. The other day, I went online and ordered one of those Neutrogena Id kits; you answer questions about your skin and they personalize your skin-care regimen. I haven't gotten it yet, so I don't know how well it works, but that may be something you want to try to take the guess-work out of it.
thank you so much ladies for taking the time to answer my question. i truly appreciate any bit of advice i can get.

Felicia - Where would I find Mario Badescu products? and also, would you recommend Avon for other things besides the makeup remover? I was leaning towards buying some stuff from there only because my friend sells it.

Cherri - i've seen those commercials, let me know how it works out for you!
I just got my skin iD in the mail today so I'll keep you updated! I used to sell Avon, so I know they have a lot of good products! Their ANEW line is more of a high-end product that is separated by skin-care needs such as minimal signs of aging (for someone in their 20's or 30's), moderate signs of aging, and advanced signs of aging. I use the ANEW Ulitmate Eye Contouring cream and it is fabulous! Tell your friend to hook you up with some samples! :)
nice! i will, thanks so much for that info :)
