I was watching the news and they said how very cathartic for Eartha to die on Xmas since SantaBaby was her song.

Bear with me on this one, but Betty Page and Eartha Kitt died in the same week and this site is just now getting kicking, so maybe they are at peace knowing the pinup style lives on.

Ok am I an egomaniac for saying that?? Hmmm..

But Betty Page also became a christian at the end of her life according to the movie I saw and all, so I think she died happy too.

Ok call me a dork. I dunno. Just my two cents, lol

I meditate on things like that too. I think it's very poetic that a giant like Eartha exited the world on the biggest holiday of the year. I mean Orson Welles crowned her the "Most Exciting Woman in the World" and he was once married to Rita Hayworth..yeah, I'd be a diva till the end too!

But besides being the Diva of all Divas, she was witty and spoke her mind. When she was blacklisted and investigated for speaking out against the Vietnam War, she never backed down on her beliefs.
She recently said "The thing that hurts, that became anger, was when I realized that if you tell the truth -- in a country that says you're entitled to tell the truth -- you get your face slapped and you get put out of work."

She stayed true to herself. She lived like a true movie star and was surrounded by the love and support of her family,friends, and fans...
I 'd like to think she was happy because she lived an exciting, purpose filled life.

Awe, how sad. I didn't hear she had died...unlike when Bettie Page died and the word spread like wildfire. Ertha was so cute...and sad she should die on Xmas day. Her version of Santa Baby is the best one by far. I had/have it posted on my profile in celebration of xmas each year :( this is sad.
