Just wondering if there are any other retired punks here?
I got into this whole pin up, rockabilly, psychobilly thing via punk. One thing leads to another..at least for me because I have a short attention span and like discovering new music and styles, etc. This is thanks to the scene in Vancouver which is a lot more interesting and fun then Toronto. So any other semi-retired punks?

I just wanted to add to the discussion again.

I remember, it must have been about 1990, I was at a Social Distortion show at the Cactus Club. It was a small club, held maybe 200 people, and looked around and saw all kinds of greasers at the show. This was right after SxDx had put out their self titled album. I remember thinking, "When did Social Distortion become a Rockabilly band?" I really think SxDx contributed to the whole "punk retirement." At least they did for my generation.
absolutely. i started out really into punk and then i ended up becoming a scene-famous hardcore girl.... i've always been into the 40s/50s style, music, etc... but i never knew anyone else around here who was into it until a couple years ago.
don't get me wrong...a good punk/hardcore tune still gets my heart pumping. : )
Social D is a perfect example of "started punk - ended rockabilly" there are a ton of them though.. they are just main stream, so it makes sense.. tiger army was a cross over band.. they started out as an awesome punk band! the cramps have been mistaken for a punk band.. and Left Alone... what about the misfits?? These are all great examples of crossovers.. and people from both genre love them!!

Hi sorry I'm not in a good mood today I just got downsized from my job...but it's nice to see these replies by semi-retired punks. Agh..this economic system still sucks ass if you're poor. Sorry, I'll write something better in a few days or weeks..
