Hello everyone,

I am revisiting this topic as I've kind of gotten a better idea as to what we're looking for but me and my Beau are getting married in October in Key West on a Sailboat and I am having a hard time finding some things....

Dresses -- > this is the kind of style I am looking for : http://www.dollydagger.co.uk/prodimages/polka-dot-dress-blkwht-300.jpg and http://michelleroth.com/pgs/maya.php but I would really like to have the option of Black with Turquoise polka dots with a black and/or turquoise petticoat and/or crinoline underneath, which is why I was going for more of a custom website.

Rings --> we're kind of hoping to keep it simple and elegant without spending a great deal of money. It's more about the sentiment than it is the rock on my finger. We're currently looking a posey rings but have been unable to find a website that really has one that we like.

Clothes for him --> This is the look he's going for (kinda): http://beckynovacek.typepad.com/live_and_learn/images/2008/06/02/me... and I'm sure we'll find something for him MUCH easier than me but any suggestions are welcome!

I guess it's just all sort of overwhelming right now, especially since we are eloping and the money is all on us!

Please, PLEASE if anybody has any ideas, websites or anything they would like to share, I welcome any and all responses with open arms!

Thank you so much <3

Have you talked to Katherine at Whirlingturban? She has a "50's sheath" style with a detachable halter strap. Also, Whirlingturban hand dyes fabrics, and I think she could do the black with turquoise polka dots. She also has some amazing fabrics that are woven with metallic threads that shimmer in the light.
Kim beat me to it! Def. check out Whirlingturban....her stuff is beautiful! And like Kim said, she does custom work.

As far as men's clothes goes, we haven't really found a website that you can purchase from, well the style we are going for anyway (we are gettin' hitched in August) so we just went into a local tux shop and showed them what style we wanted and our budget...they helped a lot! I would try Men's Warehouse - because you don't actually have to purchase the tuxs for the groom or groomsmen - you can rent...which will save you mucho bucks!
Okay, okay, it's not BLACK and turquoise, but I just came across this dress while looking up something else, and thought of you. It's by Jovani, model B53061

And THIS one, also Jovani, is available from NewYorkDress.com in a color combo called "white/black/turquoise" but there are no photos of that combination. I'm guessing the sash part is turquoise, because I think this photo is of the white/black/yellow version.

DO WAAAANT!!!

Heya! I'm currently planning my own vintage USO show wedding - pinup goodness included :)

FIRST AND FOREMOST - VISIT www.offbeatbride.com - YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!

My fiance and I found my engagement ring (which will also double as my wedding ring because I love it SO MUCH) on ebay - I always wanted a vintage Art Deco ring of some sort, and the selection on there is fabulous. I couldn't be happier with my ring! For him we really like this shop: www.ShadeJewelry.etsy.com - it's pretty fabulous. I actually recommend Etsy for lots of stuff, just go there and search for whatever you need, the results will definitely surprise you. We're also having a custom topper carved by a guy I found there. Did I mention we're on a very small budget? Etsy is also budget friendly.

You should also look into using a local dressmaker, they will be able to make a dress to your specs and custom measurements no problem - and because it's not a 'traditional' wedding dress, it probably won't be too expensive! I'm designing and making my own, and hey - if you can sew look into that option too. There are lots of cute patterns out there that look very similar to your examples.

For the guys: since we're doing a WWII-era inspired wedding, I don't really want tuxes - grooms wore their uniforms or their one nice suit back then - waste not want not! So - I'd like all of the men to wear charcoal grey suits, we'll need to scout around the rental places here in town to find those. I also just bought a really cool custom tie for my fiance from Toybreaker on Etsy. They do beautiful ties!

Whew. Hope this helps! Ebay and Etsy are great places to look for fun stuff.
